Sony Internet TV is the world's first and only HDTV that is powered by Google TV. It gives you easy access to unlimited entertainment by surfing the entire web, numerous TV listing and dozens of applications. It lets you watch HDTV, browse the internet, access your application collection, or even watch and browse at the same time on the same screen. Dual View

With this feature, it allows you to watch your favorite TV show while surfing the web. A small window plays your TV while the rest of the TV background is your browser. Tweet about the latest news or update your Facebook status with the movie that you are currently watching

Seamless Search

This lets you search for your favorite TV show, browse the World Wide Web or connect select dish network devices to include your previously recorded content in the search results. Search results are both from the internet and TV

Keypad

This is the Sony Internet Television's main controller. An intuitive handheld remote with full QWERTY keypad and optical mouse, this is the Sony’s Internet Television main controller. Sony Internet TV Blu-ray Disc Player $400

If you already have an HDTV, you can connect Sony Internet Blu-ray Disc Player with an HDMI cable to access Google TV. Get the same awesome Google TV functionalities to your existing HDTV plus a Blu-ray disc player. Just make sure that your HDTV is equipped with HDMI input and a cable or satellite box with HDMI output.

Is it User Friendly?

Technically, yes, the basic requirement for setting up your Sony Internet Television is a high-speed internet with 2.5Mbps or, 10Mbps bandwidth for HD content as recommended by Sony. Sony Internet TV has also a Built-in Wifi so you can connect wirelessly. Sony recommends to connect to 805.11n router. Google TV integrates with your current cable service and connects to the HDMI output of your set-top box, so no need to worry about your cable.

To access Google TV from your Sony Internet Television, you have to sign in using your Google account (same username and password with your Gmail). If you don’t have one yet, just simply follow the process of creating a Gmail account from the Google TV signup process.

Google TV functionalities are all completely free without any additional subscriptions. Access to premium channels, video-on-demand and websites would need a subscription or payment to the content providers like on your TV or PC.
