The most common small refrigerators are around 4 to 8 cubic feet in storage capacity. This confined area makes the appliance limited to very basic functions of refrigeration. Since most students are notorious for changing residences almost every year, small refrigerators offer to serve their refrigeration needs in a portable way.

Larger units are useful in places like apartments with small kitchens. Some small refrigerators are large enough to have a separated freezer compartment which pretty much works like a standard sized refrigerator. Other refrigerators also offer ice making and keeping functions among other things.

With such a wide range in size and functionality there is a cheap small refrigerator to match whatever the need might be. Often used as small beverage refrigerators to keep drinks at a more convenient location, small refrigerators make for the perfect appliance to have in an entertainment room.
