Spyware Removal

By | Jul 6, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Its important to understand spyware and how to go about removing it from your computer.

Spyware is simply a type of virus that gets installed onto our computers without us knowing. Even worse, this malware even collects bits and pieces of information from our computer and stores them too.

Unfortunately, many users are not even aware that they are infected because the spyware gets installed without the computer users' knowledge. Because of the name, some people are under the assumption that the collecting tools spyware uses are simple. However, these malware and viruses can record a variety of information from you, including your personal information like bank accounts, passwords, and social security numbers. Spyware is not a fully fledged virus though because it does not self replicate like many worms and viruses do. So you can rest assured that this is much easier to get rid of than some of those Trojan viruses.

Spyware can even come hidden and included in software downloads that you are authorizing. As the user downloads and installs their program, the spyware is in turn also installed. The user is none the wiser about it. This doesn't mean that the software you downloaded will not work or have any issues because the problem is only in the spyware download.

So how do you get spyware in a software download? Believe it or not, spyware developers can actually pay software creators to have their spyware placed into the bundle download. This is not the case in all bundles that include spyware. For example, some people will buy or download the software, implement their spyware download, and then place the software download back up for users to take advantage of.

It important to remember that if you find you are infected with any kind of spyware, your problem is probably just beginning. In most cases if your computer has spyware, it generally has other worms and/or viruses along with it. Just like bacteria breaks down our immune systems, spyware and other malware break down how your computer defends itself. This is why spyware removal is so important to your computers' operation.

There are many free software downloads, spyware free, available to help you keep your computer clean and at peak performance. Unfortunately spyware is something we will probably always see, so taking the steps to keep your information safe now can help protect you online later down the road.
