By | Feb 14, 2010 | 1 Comments | Rating: 0

Staph skin infections, happen when bacteria infects a wound, or punctured skin. It's known as staphylococcus aureus bacteria, which causes the infection. When the skin is damaged and bacteria enters, that's what causes skin infections. Staph skin infections can be quite seriously, if they go without treatment. Different skin wounds, can lead to staph skin infections. Anytime you have a cut on the skin, it should be treated right away.

Preventing staph skin infections requires keeping a wound covered. Anytime you have a scab, cut, or the skin is punctured, it needs to be covered. It's too easy for wounds and cuts to become infected. Preventing staph infections require good hygiene as well. It's a bacteria that spreads. Always wash your hands frequently, and bathe with a anti-bacterial soap.

You should avoid sharing eating utensils with others, or share drinks. You can obtain staph from food. If someone else has staphylococcus aureus, it's contagious. So be careful when you're in contact with others. Whether you have staph, or not.

Getting staph skin infection treatment will be needed by a prescribed doctor. You'll probably need prescribed antibiotics. Infections spread. You'll also need to clean the wound daily. Using antibacterial soaps help avoid infections on the skin. Maintaining a good hygiene of the punctured skin can be effective in preventing staph skin infections.

There are home remedies that can be effective when treating staph skin infections. Although I'm not suggesting to use home remedies above getting medical treatment. Skin infections are serious, and can become viral if not treated. If you want to use any home remedies, discuss with your doctor. Some though, really will help treat wounds and get rid of the infection.

The home remedy that I like, is called turmeric. Turmeric is known as an Indian spice. A lot of cultures have been using it as a herbal medicine for many centuries. It's quite the wound healer. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antibacterial, and antibiotic effects. Turmeric can be used to kill pain, stop the infection, and heal the wound.

You'll want to make a turmeric paste, using the powder mixed with enough water to make a paste. Apply to the wound, then cover with gauze. Also take turmeric capsules at well. Take one a day. You'll find turmeric capsules at a health store. It can help get rid of the infection. Turmeric does work, but still talk to your doctor first.

Turmeric is powerful stuff. I recommend going with the capsules too for internal use, as many people dislike turmeric's taste.
