Rent A Steam Cleaner And Keep Those Carpets Looking Great
There are many places that offer steam cleaner rentals in Nampa.
Renting a steam cleaner is one of the best ways to keep your carpets and rugs looking as good as new. But where do you rent one from? Fortunately, there are many options for anyone looking to rent a steam cleaner in Nampa, Idaho - so if you live in this wonderful Treasure Valley city you should have no troubles finding a carpet cleaning machine capable of tackling even the nastiest carpets.
But before I get to the list, let me briefly address a common question regarding rental steam cleaners: They are NOT all the same. Many people have the mistaken belief that any one particular machine should work as well as the others, but that's simply not true. Generally speaking, the heavier-duty the cleaner, the more powerful it is. Those bigger, stronger units are usually more effective at removing the most stubborn and extreme dirt and stains. However, they usually also come with a higher rental price - so if your carpet isn't particularly "trashed," and you're simply looking for a cleaner capable of handling light duty work, a smaller, cheaper unit might be the right choice.
I guess the moral of my story is that you should cater your equipment to match the job. The harder the job, the better and stronger equipment you'll need. In this case, "equipment" means "steam cleaner" and even "steam cleaner chemicals."
But I think you get my point, so I'm not going to beat a dead horse. Instead, let's get to the meat and potatoes of why you're here in the first place:
Where To Rent A Steam Cleaner In Nampa, Idaho
You might be surprised to learn that Nampa has a plethora of companies willing to rent out steam cleaners. Just be aware that they each have different agreements, including delivery (so make sure you can fit the machine in your car if you can't get it delivered).
All Albertson's grocery stores in the Nampa-Caldwell area offer steam cleaner rentals. These products are usually found at or near the customer service department. Chances are you've walked right past them and never paid any attention to them (I know I'm guilty of that). For a fairly small security deposit and a low daily rental rate, Albertson's probably offers the best prices in town. They even sell carpet cleaning solution that's compatible with their machines.
Root Rents is a multipurpose tool and equipment rental company that deals in everything from drills to back hoes. They even rent out crazy party supplies. But that's probably not that important, because all we're concerned with is steam cleaners. And Root Rents has them. Last time I was in, they stocked two or three different steam cleaners: One was a light duty unit and the other was a more powerful machine designed more for industrial use (or very soiled homes). In fact, the latter was advertised at 1,000 psi! That's one powerful carpet cleaner!
Tate's Rents is similar to Root Rents in that it rents pretty much anything you could every imagine, from tools to heavy machinery. Tate's Rents has about a dozen locations throughout the Treasure Valley (Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian, Boise, etc...), so finding one near your home should be a breeze. And the company often sends out coupon mailers, and advertises heavily in the local newspapers, so you should be able to find a deal on cheap steam cleaner rental prices without much effort.
It might be famous for its moving supplies like boxes, moving vans and trailers, but U-Haul also rents steam cleaners. As far as I know, the company only offers the "Rug Doctor" machines, which are probably the strongest, most powerful home steam cleaners available. U-Haul has multiple locations throughout Nampa, just look in your phone book or on Google.
We all know Lowe's as a home improvement mecca, but most people don't know that the mega hardware store also rents steam cleaners. Head straight to the customer service desk and ask for the person in charge of rentals.
Ditto everything I just said about Lowe's, but add a cartoon guy with an orange hat and apron.
ShopKo was one of the very first big chain stores to expand into the Nampa area (it's been here for decades now), and spent about 20 years in close competition with K-Mart as the department store of choice - a battle in which K-Mart didn't win. Part of that competition included offering customers everything they could ever need, including renting out steam cleaners. Even though other stores have moved into the area and pressured ShopKo's presence, the store still rents out steam cleaners.
Fred Meyer, along with ShopKo, dominated the Nampa shopping community for about two decades before Wal-Mart, Target and others recently moved in. But that's besides the point. The real point is that Fred Meyer in Nampa rents out steam cleaners.
I'm not sure if the Big Lots in Nampa rents steam cleaners, but I know that the ones in Boise and Meridian do (so I'm going out on a limb and assuming the one in Nampa would as well, just don't hold me responsible if they don't - it's probably safe to call ahead and double check).
True Value Hardware
Before Home Depot and Lowe's hit the scene, the Nampa hardware market was dominated by mom and pop franchises like True Value. There are still a couple of locations still open in the Nampa-Caldwell area, and last time I checked all of them had steam cleaner rentals. While you're there, be sure to strike up a conversation with the owners or managers, talking with them is half the fun.
So Go Rent A Steam Cleaner!
That carpet isn't going to clean itself. And regardless of how powerful your vacuum cleaner is or how hyped up that fancy carpet cleaning spray you ordered off the late-night infomercial was, nothing cleans a carpet like a steam cleaner. And considering the relative low cost of renting a very powerful machine - one capable of cleaning all but the most stubborn stains and dirt - it's a great investment for your home.
So now that you know all about steam cleaner rental in Nampa, it's time to get those floors clean!
