Tawaaf al-Qudum(S)

The conditions of Tawaaf are same as salah, except that speaking is allowed so it is preferable that one does not speak except good. One should start Tawaaf from the black stone and his left should be towards the Ka’bah. One has to circumbulate seven rounds completely and continuously. It is better to perform Tawaaf walking. No part of one’s body should be inside the Ka’bah when circumbulating around it but preferably close to it. It is recommended to touch the black stone and kiss one’s hands at the beginning of Tawaaf and for every round if it is not crowded. But if there is a crowd it is better to just raise one’s hands from a distance pointing towards the black stone and say the takbeer. When starting Tawaaf it is recommended to say.

If Saee follows any Tawaaf it is recommended, during that Tawaaf, to place the middle portion of the cloak under the right shoulder, exposing it, and make the two ends meet over the left shoulder, and to walk in short strides faster than usual in the first three rounds and to be in one’s normal pace and speed in the rest of the rounds.

It was also in the practice of the Prophet (sal) to pray two rakahs of salah, after Tawaaf, behind Maqam- e- Ibraheem or any part of al-Masjid al-Haraam, reading Surah al-Kafiroon in the first one and Surah al-Ikhlas in the second.

After sunrise one leaves to Mina to pelt stones. When one reaches Mina it is desirable to say:

Pelting at al-Jamrah al-Aqabah(W)

Pelting seven pebbles at al-Jamrah-al-Aqabah on the 10th of Zul-Hijja is obligatory during any time between midnight and sunset. This is recommended to be the first thing that one carries out as he reaches Mina. It is recommended to stop saying the talbiya and say the takbir during the pelting of the stones and raise the right hand high to pelt. After this one will sacrifice an animal in the name Allah.

Shaving(R)

This is the cutting off of at least three strands of hair for the male and shortening of a few strands for the female, but it is better for the male to shave off the hair completely. This should be done after midnight on the 10th. At this point one has come out of the state of ihram partially, where all the prohibited actions become permissible except the actions pertaining to women.

Tawaaf al Wada’ (W)

This is the last circumbulation a pilgrim performs before leaving Makkah. Immediately after this one should leave Makkah. If one stays for any other reason, after this Tawaaf, one should repeat it.

Now one has completed his Hajj successfully by the grace of Allah.
