Have you ever said to yourself, I want to start a business, but now is not the time? Maybe when my kids go to college or when I pay off some debt. Well if it's not the kids, debt or your day job, it's going to be something else. There are always going to be extra things vying for your time and energy. Why not take the time now to start the business you've always wanted.

It's possible to start a new business while still working a day job. Actually it's advised that you do that. But you have to set prioritizes in order for your business to be success and yield results.

Re-evaluate Your Schedule

Look at your daily routine and see exactly how you're spending your time. Of course there is time that is allotted to work, family, relaxation and fun. But when evaluating your schedule, what time can be shaved off from different slots. I'm not suggesting you forgo family time, but what about sleep and relaxation. Have you considered getting up an hour early or staying up an hour later each day to work on your business? You'd be surprised how much can be accomplished when everyone is asleep and the house is quiet.

Make up a list of things you would like to do for your business, how much time it will require. Then use a calendar and assign a day for each task that you have allotted for your business. Include items that you need to accomplish for that particular day and week.  I've been doing this for the past few weeks and I've been able to get so much done.

If you feel you get up early enough and can't sacrifice any more sleep, how about your lunch hour. If you have a laptop, why not take it with work to you every day? I'm writing this article now during my lunch hour. The time I could be sitting around relaxing, I'm creating content for this site in the hopes of earning a future income. Overcome Setbacks

There are going to be times when you want to have lunch with a friend or sleep in instead of working on business. That's ok. But get back into your routine and keep going. Create a PowerPoint or video of what is motivating you to replace your current income and watch it daily to keep on track. Over time you will begin to see results from your business and it will spurn you on to keep going. Regardless of any setbacks, don’t give up.

Handle Distractions Efficiently

There are of course going to be times when you can't work on your business or you have a family emergency. Expect that to happen and move forward. If you can't get to your computer, try using your cell phone to make notes on things you need to work on. If you have a voice recorder, keep that handy too to name any new ideas that may arise.

Sometimes to succeed in life we have to make sacrifices. Why not take the time to make a change for your future and start on the road to building and growing your business.
