One of my goals right now is to entirely give up TV. Why am I doing this? It's simple really. I believe TV is a complete waste of time. I read in a book called The Success Principles by Jack Canfield that the average American watches 6 hours of TV EVERY DAY! Can you believe that... that's a quarter of your day and a quarter of your life.

The author of the Millionaire Fastlane(another great read) believes that you should eliminate spending all that time watching other people live extraordinary lives on TV. Instead, you should use those extra 6 hours a day to make your own life extraordinary and worth being featured on TV.

Another example is Steve Pavlina from stevepavlina.com. He's a personal development expert/blogger who challenged himself to give up TV for 30 days straight. During those 30 days, instead of spending his nights watching mindless television, he went out with his wife and saw live performances among other things. He said that this was the most memorable month he has ever had. Wouldn't it be worth trying for at least 30 days in your own life?

A 30 days challenge like this may seem challenging at first but in the end, I sincerely believe you'll be very glad you made the commitment.

I have a few ideas I'd like to share with you when it comes to what you should do instead of watching TV for a quarter of your life:

1. You could make more money by building a new stream of income

2. You could learn a new language

3. You could go back to school

4. You could spend more quality time with your friends and family

5. You could read the classics or read about something you're passionate about every day until you become an expert

These are just a couple of ideas of what you could do with all that extra time. Of course, the possibilities are unlimited. So think about it and give it a shot for god's sake.
