Storing things is a necessity for every household and industry. In a room, clothes, gadgets, and fashion accessories are packed in storage boxes. Kitchen containers and drawers are used to store chinaware, glasses, and other cooking equipment. In the industrial setting, manufacturing companies place their wares in crates, when delivering them to suppliers. Such is the importance of storage boxes. You must have more than a few to neatly stock your items up.

Types of Storage Boxes

The size, material, and the appearance of a storage box are the determinants on where it will be used. Bedroom containers are decorative as they are sturdy, holding clothes, gadgets, and accessories. Industrial packaging is often large and extra durable, since it contains a good number of heavy materials. It should withstand the wear and tear during deliveries. To give you a clearer view of things, here are the different types of storage boxes:

· Plastic Storage Boxes – Plastic storage bins and boxes are perfect for home use. These versatile containers are used to hold practically anything in the household. Clothes, toys, books, magazines, pots, pans, and china are its usual load. Foldable plastic containers are great space savers, since they can handle lots of items, without taking too much space, which is why they are popular items for those who live in apartments and condominiums.

· Decorative Storage Boxes – Decorative containers are marked with elegant patterns and edgy contours, attracting the owner's taste for aesthetics. It is matched with a room or a home's theme just like other furniture pieces. Usually, decorative boxes are quite expensive, given the labor required for creating or imprinting the patterns. If you are very particular with your room's appearance, getting such a container comes as your primary option.

· Cardboard Storage Boxes – Cardboard, at first glance, seems to soft to carry heavy items, but in truth, cardboard storage boxes are the primary packaging used for stocking up canned goods, bottled items, and other heavy materials. With packing tape in hand, you can haul in numerous items inside the box. The cardboard frame, when neatly handled and secured, does not break easily and provides cushioning for sensitive items. It could even withstand the hits and bumps when loaded into a delivery truck.

· Wooden Storage Boxes – Wooden storage boxes are efficient home containers, but they figure more into the industrial scene, given their sheer durability. Often large in size, manufactured items are often stored in them, as they are hauled into ships or delivery trucks, to be transported to warehouses. They can carry tons of items, and a crane is used to lift the largest of wooden boxes. When changing homes, they are also used to carry heavy furniture and other large items.

· CD Storage Boxes – Need to transport your audio CD and DVD collection to a new address? Compact discs are particularly sensitive. A few hits or even smudges can hamper the quality of the contained media. A CD storage box, made of plastic, is a portable version of the CD rack. Its slots are fit the size of CD cases, perfectly, avoiding spillages. It has a crystal case that protects its contents, which in effect, keeps the CDs and DVDs inside the case. The box is portable. You can bring it anywhere with ease.

· Blister and Clamshell Packaging – Blister packaging and clamshell packaging provide airtight support to the items they carry. A plastic covering is molded to take the exact shape of the packaged product, giving utmost support. The plastic is thick, for optimum protection. It won't bend or become misshapen from mild hits or collisions. Objects such as electronic gadgets, small action figures, and other sensitive items rely on the packaging types for protection.

Other Containers

Storage and transport aren't limited to the use of boxes. Other types of containers are utilized to conveniently store certain items. These receptacles are composed of distinct materials and have particular dimensions, given the items that they are tasked to carry. They can come in the form of permanent or transportable fixtures.

· Storage Lockers and Storage Drawers – Storage lockers, as their name suggests, are built to carry various equipment and accessories. Schools use them for primarily storing books, lunchboxes, and clothes. Storage drawers, on the other hand, hold important documents, like reports and records. They are usually secured with padlocks, so the public won't be able to access the stored items. Some are even fireproof and would withstand tremendous impact, providing optimum protection. No wonder every office contains at least a few lockers and drawers.

· Plastic Storage Bins – Home and office accessories, when they accumulate to a great number, can produce clutter, which is a great contributor of stress. Of course, any stressful environment is anything but a good place to stay. A plastic storage bin works wonders, as you can place a lot of accessories in them. You can also use a separate bin for storing garbage. As a result, your room and your office workstation will become more pleasant surroundings.
