How to live a more exciting life

6 Steps to Take Action

Most of us at one point in our lives have felt like we are stuck in the daily grind. We go to work and come home to housework and then it is back to work again. Every day looks the same. This can go on for weeks or even years. The easiest way to change your circumstances is to first change yourself. Following these simple steps can lead you on the path to having a more exciting and fulfilling life.

1. Exercise

The first and one of the most important things to add to your daily routine is exercise. There are many benefits of exercising daily that will improve your quality of life. Firstly, exercising daily can improve your appearance, this may give you more confidence and self esteem over time. Secondly, exercise is a great way to sort through your emotions. Whenever I feel stressed or angry I will go for a run. By the time I come home I feel much better. Thirdly, it improves your mood and boosts your energy levels. This means that you feel better and have more energy to make your day far more productive. Take action by waking up thirty minutes early each morning to exercise. You may like to go for a walk or run, lift weights or try an exercise DVD.

2. Eat more vegetables

Including more vegetables in your diet will improve your life tremendously. Eating more vegetables will help you to feel better inside and out. You will have more energy and not feel as run down, you will improve your immune system and get sick less often, and you will find that the appearance of your hair, skin and nails will improve over time. Eating more fruit and vegetables which are full of antioxidants helps to prevent ageing. Take action by adding three serves of vegetables to your dinner each night. Try to vary which vegetables you eat so that you are eating many different nutrients daily. Your body and mind will love you for it. If you dislike the taste of vegetables try putting them in a blender with your favourite fruit and blending it together to make a smoothie that you can drink. A good recipe will hide the taste of the vegetables.

3. Write a list of your favourite activities and plan to do them

Something that helps to make life far more exciting is planning something to look forward to in the future. I always make sure that I plan a few events throughout the year to look forward to. This keeps me excited for the future and makes the mundane days more tolerable. Take action by writing a list of activities that you would love to do and book a few of them in over the next year. An example may be to plan to go to a concert or book a small vacation.

4. Start a hobby

Starting a hobby with a group of like minded people is a fantastic step in creating a more exciting life. It is a great way to meet new friends and become a part of your community. Take action by writing a list of hobbies that you enjoy or something that you would like to learn how to do. An example could be taking an art class or baking class.

5. Plan a night out with friends regularly

It is very important to take time to spend with our closest friends. Getting dressed up and making new memories with friends can turn the end of a bad week into a positive and start the following week on a high note. It is great to relax at home in pyjamas but it is also great for your self esteem to get dressed up and spend time with friends once in a while. Take action by planning a night out with friends at least once a month. My friends and I plan to do something different each month to make great and lasting memories together.

6. Sacrifice something that is holding you back

It is important to understand that sacrifices must be made to improve the quality of your life. There are many things in our lives that hold us back in one way or another. Choosing to let one of these bad habits go will be extremely rewarding for you and help you to move in the right direction. Take action by sacrificing a specific behaviour that you have that is holding you back from your goals. It may mean you sacrifice your after dinner dessert to help you to lose weight or cut back an hour of your TV time so that you can focus on your business. Whatever you decide to sacrifice, it is important to stick to your decision so that you can let go of one thing that is holding you back achieving your goals.
