Summer time is fast approaching and for students it means getting a summer job. Finding a student summer job is as American as apple pie and hot dogs, but in these tough economic times, students might be a bit anxious; Have no fear student summer jobs are both plentiful and easily located.
Start by hitting the pavement. Target places offering summer jobs and go for it. A personal visit is far more effective than just filling out an application and dropping it off. Ask for the manager or the human resource manager. Hand them the application and make it clear the job is important.
Don’t keep ignoring the temp work agency in the strip mall. Stop in and put your name on the list. Many good paying jobs can be found via a temp agency and of course the jobs are just that, temporary, as are you.
Avoid being picky about a summer job. It isn’t a career and will only last a few months, so take the job, earn the money and move on. Remember most of these jobs are easily found because people don’t want them, they are not careers.
Become an entrepreneur. If you posses a special skill go out and offer the service, who knows maybe that will end up being a lifelong investment.
