Sulfate Free Shampoos and Conditioners

By Edited Jul 17, 2016 0 0

Maintaining the best and healthiest hair requires using organic ingredients that will revive the follicles, and keep them healthy for a long period of time. Sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are hard to find, but they're the best shampoos to use for your scalp. Sodium lauryl sulfate is used in about 95% of our shampoos. It's one of the most harmful, and harsh chemicals for our skin. I will tell you exactly why you should switch to sulfate free shampoos and conditioners, and where to purchase some of the best sulfate free shampoos and conditioners online.

Why Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is Bad for Hair and Skin

Sodium lauryl sulfate is used to clean grease, garage floors, and its a top cleaner in the cleaning industry. However, we're not garage floors, are we? SLS is a very harmful toxic, and its been linked to cancer even, according to clinical studies. It's one of the most dangerous chemicals to use for our skin. It has no purpose at all for skin or hair use. It's used because it creates foams for shampoos, soaps, and shaving creams. It's also very cheap to use, which is why a lot of cosmetic industries use SLS in their products. The main problem with SLS on the skin, is that it strips away valuable nutrients that are needed for hair follicles to grow. There's no clinical proof, but a lot of people believe sulfate might directly lead, or at least speed up the process of hair loss. SLS leads to irritation, which can play a large role in hair loss. A sulfate free shampoo, and a chemical free one in general, is the absolute best way to maintain a healthy scalp of hair.

This is not to say everyone who uses SLS is necessarily doomed. People have been using SLS shampoos for decades, and some have maintained a healthy set of hair, and skin despite what its capable of. Maintaining healthy hair requires quite a few things. Genetics, overall healthy diets, and proper nutrients for our hair. Some have much more sensitive skin, and react much worse to harsh chemicals like SLS. Some people don't shampoo their hair everyday as well, so they're not exposed to as much SLS. Some people don't rinse their hair well enough, which leaves more SLS exposed to hair follicles, and your scalp. Whatever the case is, SLS does NOTHING to help our skin and hair.

Where to Find Sulfate Free Shampoos and Conditioners

Emu Oil Shampoo - If you go online, you'll find one of the best shampoos and conditioners that's sulfate free, which is one of the best for healthy growing hair. I use this shampoo and conditioner myself, and its by far the best I've ever used on my hair. Both men and women can use for hydrating hair. I'm a firm believer that emu oil is one of the best natural oils to use for our hair. It prevents irritation, bacteria, and it promotes hair growth. Emu oil also blocks DHT, which is the common cause to hair loss. It's completely organic, and free of any chemicals. I'd get both the hair conditioner and shampoo for maximum results. The shampoo contains emu oil, shea butter, seaweed complex, peppermint oil, and almond oil. The conditioner contains emu oil, shea butter, avocado, B5, apple cider vinegar, vegetable glycerin emulsifier, may chang, exotic vervain, coconut, lemon, and sage. It's very expensive, but well worth the price of admission. Go to the emu oil shop at ebay, if you want to purchase. It costs around $50 dollars or so for both a 16 ounce of shampoo and hair conditioner.
