Summer Makeup Dos and Don'ts

By Edited Feb 10, 2014 0 0

When it comes to summer makeup, there are some simple rules that you can follow to make sure that you look great no matter what the temperature is out. Many women try to do without their favorite beauty products when it is hot out. There is no reason to for them to do this.

Creating a flawless look when it is hot is all about using the right products and application techniques. These dos and don'ts will get you started on creating coll trendy looks while others are melting in the summer heat.

Use tinted moisturizer to help to even out skin tone. The gentle wash of color that you will get from this summer makeup will take the place of your usual foundation. The coverage is sheer enough that you will be able to use the same shade even if you get a bit of sun. If your skin tends to be oily, you will want to purchase an oil free tinted moisturizer.

Avoid thick cream based foundation when it gets hot out. Heavy coverage can block air getting to your skin and cause you to sweat. Sweating can make your products just melt off your face.

Mineral foundation is one of the best products there is for summer makeup. The powder is light weight and allows air to freely flow to the skin. The minerals and other natural ingredients that are used to create this product are actually good for your skin.

Try to avoid using the same blush that you do in the winter. Even if you are not actively trying to get a tan, your skin will get a little color from being outside. You will need to change the shades that you use in blush to accommodate this.

You do want to use bronzer to create a fabulous sun kissed look. You can choose from gel or powder to get this great look. The key is to find a shade of bronzer that will compliment your skin tone. You can also use this summer makeup as your blush if you would like.

Try to avoid using dark eye liner and mascara. This is true especially during the daytime. You will find your face getting wet at times from thing s like the pool and sweating. This can cause these products to run and to make it look like you have two black eyes.

You can use waterproof mascara to seal your eye makeup into place. By doing this, you will not have to worry about being splashed by a pool or sweating too much. Your mascara will stay in place until you take it off at the end of the night.
