With summer coming up and everyone gearing up for the beach, I thought I would share a personal tactic that I use to appear as lean as possible before taking photos or being in a place where people will see my body. The technique is pretty straightforward, and it only takes 6 days and minimal preparation. The leaner you are, the more noticeable the results will be, but it is good to flush out your system as well.

To prepare, head to the store and buy a gallon jug of water, epsom salts,  and a natural diuretic(optional). You're going to be drinking a lot of water in the next few days, so don't stray too far from a bathroom!

To tell you how to do this, I first need to set an imaginary date that I want to look good for. For this article's sake, let's say I am going to the beach on a Saturday. This is what you want to do on the days leading up to your Saturday outing:

Monday- Drink 2 to 2 1/2 gallons of water. Try to keep your carbohydrate intake below 50 grams.

Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday- Same as Monday.

Friday- Start a carb-up today. You want to eat 250 to 300 grams of carbohydrates today. What you are doing is replenishing the body's glycogen that you have depleted in the past 4 days. This will help pull water into your muscles and help you look bigger. Next, cut your water intake around 5 PM. This means no more liquids until tomorrow. Your body is going to continue to flush out the 2 to 2 1/2 gallons of water that you've been taking in every day for the last few days. The end result is that this water will be pulled from under your skin, making you look 'dry' and a lot more lean. You can take an epsom salt bath tonight to help further this effect.

Saturday- Take a good, long look in the mirror when you wake up. You should look lean and mean! If you look a little flat, drink a soda or eat something small that contains simple sugars (a Pop-Tart would be a good example).

If you followed these steps and have a reasonably low bodyfat, the difference should be night and day. Now go out and show off your hard work!
