Lie In the Sun

Lying down soaking in the rays from the sun can be very comforting but you want to make sure you have ample UV suntan lotion on. Skin cancer is not anything to mess with so you don't want to be doing it every day for hours on end, however lying in the sun little bit is okay.

Sand Castles

Sand Hole at Beach
Building sand castles is fun for any one and you don't have to be a kid to build one. You can be building extravagant sand castles or you can build a simple easy to build castles but either way it's one way to enjoy the day. You may choose to build a sand castle or simply bury your buddy up to his head.  You may simply want to dig a big hole in the sand and watch the tide come in and fill the hole up with water. These can be a mindless activity at times, but it sure is a lot of fun.

Swimming

What is a day at the beach without getting your body wet? Run out to the water and belly flop. Soak your entire body in the water. Splish-Splash around. Swimming with your body underwater is a great way to cool down when the hot sun is bearing down on you.

Music

You can always play the music you want to play very loud at some crowded beaches however some beaches to not allow you to play music. Jamming To some tunes while drinking a root beer and singing “Sweet Home Alabama” will help you to burn the day’s memories into your mind.

Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is always a fun game to play on the beach. It doesn't matter whether you suck or are an expert beach volleyball player as you can have fun either way.

Barbecue

Starting up a propane grill and cook some hot dogs and hamburgers are a great way to extend the day out. The family sitting next you eating cold bologna sandwiches will be envious of you, so make sure you bring extra hotdogs and hamburgers to share with strangers. This is a great way to meet new people and possibly gather new friends for life.

People Watching

It doesn't matter whether you're a guy watching the babes in Agua Bendita bikinis or a chick watching the studs in their swimming trunks. You may even be a guy watching guys or a woman watching the babes in a bikini. People watching is fun at the beach.

Beach Activities

There are numerous other activities you can do at a beach. A very popular one is camping overnight on the sand, but this is only allowed a certain beaches. If you have access to a boat then you may have a chance to get pulled behind a tube which can also be a lot of fun. There's probably fishing nearby at the beach you visit but you need to make sure you do not fish where people are swimming as you do not want to capture your hook into anybody’s skin.

Swimming and playing at the beach is the quintessential summertime activity. It would be nice to live on a beach such as the Pacific Ocean and be able to play in the cool water every day of the summer with the busy boardwalk that has people rollerblading and bicycling all day long but unfortunately most of us do not live near the ocean. It is okay that none of us live near the ocean because there are still numerous other beaches along rivers lakes and ponds throughout North America.

A day spent at the beach is very healthy for kids as long as they don't get sunburn or overexposed to the sun. Make sure your family and friends stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. As long as you can stay hydrated and protect your skin from dangerous UV rays you'll have a lot of fun at the beach.

Taking your kids to the beach is a great way to keep your couch potato children off the couch. The amount of calories they can burn at the beach very neat single day can be immense. The beach is very healthy for children and can lead to a lifelong love of physical activity.

If you are fortunate enough to be at a beach such as the one at Wilson Lake in Hazelton Idaho then you can strike up a campfire near the water and roast marshmallows and hot dogs. Wilson Lake and similar lakes are nowhere near as exotic as some of the beaches in Southern California or the Caribbean however there are many benefits to the smaller lakes.

You can camp, fish, swim, roast marshmallows and play music all in the same location. Camping is a lot of fun until you get extremely dirty, sweaty and smelly. At that point you need to shower or bathe but there are often not many places to shower when you're in remote regions and camping. Camping out at a place such as Wilson Lake or one of the thousands of other small beach areas in America provide you with the opportunity to dive into the water and clean yourself off.

At night when you're snuggled up with your special someone inside the tent you won't be gagging from this stench of the day spent at the beach, as a swimming hole gives you the option to clean up. Spending the day at the beach maybe one your best memories of the summer, even if it is not an exotic location such as St. Maarten or the Caribbean.

Great article, I'm not much for the sand and salt, really like a nice fresh water lake.
