How to pick the perfect shades

     Many transgendered women will have some features of their face they would like to minimize. Sunglasses can be an extremely helpful tool for just this purpose. But, what type of feminine sunglasses will go with your face shape? Well here are some tips that can help you determine your face shape and give you some ideas about the best pair of sunglasses for you.

 Oval Shaped Face

 Your face is very balanced so you are lucky in the sense that you can wear any shape of sunglasses and get a feminine effect. You do want to keep proportion in mind. For example if you have a large framed face then get large frame glasses. If you have a small framed face, get small frame glasses. Square shaped frames will balance out your frames even further. A couple of celebrities with an oval face are Jude Law and Beyonce Knowles.

 Square Shaped Face

 Many transgender women end up with a square jaw line, prominent cheek bones and/or a square forehead; with both features equaling each other in their proportions.  What you need to do is select a type of sunglasses that will soften your angles. Choose round shapes, oval shapes or cat eye shapes. Rimless glasses will also help to soften the angles of your face, bringing out your feminine features. A couple of celebrity examples of square faces are Orlando Bloom and Jessica Simpson.

 Oblong Shaped Face

 An oblong face is characterized by the vertical length of your face being noticeably longer than the width; like an extended oval shape. Oversized square or round sunglasses will work well for you. What you are looking for is a shape that is shorter in height then they are width In order to add some length to your look. Two celebrities with square faces are Kiefer Sutherland and Sarah Jessica Parker.

 Diamond Shaped Face

 The diamond face shape has its widest point in the cheekbones, with a narrow forehead and angular jaw line. This face shape is less common than other facial shapes. A diamond facial shape should choose oval or round frame shapes. Cat-Eye frames work especially well. Make sure the frames are not wider than the width of your face.  Two famous diamond shaped faces belong to Jenifer Lopez and Elizabeth Hurley

 Heart Shaped Face

 People with a heart shaped faces have an inverted triangle shape to their faces. The widest part of the face is the forehead; then tapering down through the cheekbones and jaw line. A heart shape should choose oval or round frame shapes. The frames should not be wider than the width of your face. Two celebrities with heart shaped faces are Tyra Banks and Mary Kate Olsen.

 Best frames for you skin tone

Do you have warm skin or cool skin? You can find out by going outside into natural light and looking at the underside of your forearm. If you have bluish veins then you have cool tone skin. If your veins are greenish then you most likely have warm tone skin. You can also do this by looking straight at your skin to see what kind of undertone you have. Warm tone skin will have a golden or apricot undertone while cool tone skin will have a pink or rosé undertone. Now you can pick sunglass colors that go with your skin tone.

  • A cool skin tone should choose cool colors such as blue, purple. pink,  plum, magenta, turquoise, green, silver or black
  • A warm skin tone should choose warm colors like gold, copper, orange, brown, olive, off white and dark red.

     When you are feminizing your body the devil most definitely is in the details. Your hair, makeup, nails, accessories and even sunglasses can make a difference in how you are perceived.
