Sunny San Diego's Best Affordable Attractions

If you have been to San Diego, you have heard the response, "72 and sunny," to most inquiries about the weather. If you are about visit America's Finest City for the first time, you are in for a treat.

Since the weather is gorgeous from May to November, outdoor activities are a must. From December to April I suggest the same activities with a light jacket. To kick off your adventures, take a trip along the coast to the most beautiful view in San Diego. The La Jolla Shores Cove is one of the most frequently photographed places in all of California. Located about midway along the coast of San Diego, La Jolla is known for its picturesque view, snorkelers, scuba divers, and sunbathing seals.

Before heading back to your hotel, stop by the Birch Aquarium, near the UCSD campus for an inexpensive and educational aquatics adventure. After walking through the aquarium exhibits, head out back for a view that will take your breath away. The patio overlooks the shore of La Jolla and the northern cliffs.

If you have time to walk around, there are plenty of San Diego activities. Balboa Park is located just north of the downtown area and is one of the first cultivated parks in San Diego. Here you can explore the different trails throughout the park. There is an entertaining dog park, as well as a few dozen museums, theaters, stores, and coffee shops. There is even a Botanical Garden!

If you are interested in conserving funds, I suggest heading downtown for half priced appetizers at one of the many locations boasting deals this year. Anywhere you walk in the downtown area is sure to provide you with a plethora of restaurants from which to choose. If you go to the Harbor area by the convention center there is a nice little park with picnic tables where you can dine in fine form overlooking the water.
