Survivor: Redemption Island - Who Will Win?

As you may have already heard, the theme of Survivor: Redemption Island, is the return of two of the most notorious Survivor villains ever: “Boston” Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz.  Along with sixteen other new castaways, Rob and Russell will battle it out to claim the title of this season’s “sole survivor.”  The question everyone is asking...who will win?

First, let’s start with Rob.  He has been on Survivor three times before and like his archenemy Russell, he has never won the game.  His gameplay is that of a villain, but he still manages to make friends along the way which is why he is such a big threat to win the game.  This season’s “redemption island” twist also seems made to be in Rob’s favor who excels at challenges.

This will be Russell’s third season of Survivor, and as mentioned before, is title-less.  On both or Russell’s past seasons he made it all the way to the end of the game, but failed to get enough jury votes to win.  Rob commented on this, bashing Russell on the live Heroes vs. Villains reunion show that Russell “doesn’t play to win.”  Russell can make it to the end all he wants, but he does it in such a way that nobody in their right minds would vote for him to win.  He blames it on a “bitter jury,” and insists that the game is “flawed,” but it is human nature to not want to give someone who embarrassed you on national television and organized you being voted off a million dollars.  In this sense, Rob is a better fundamental player than Russell, though Russell managed to go farther in the game than Rob during Heroes vs. Villains, so you never know what will happen!

There is also the chance that someone completely new will win this season.  Having seen Rob and Russell playing the game before, the new castaways seem to have an advantage coming into the game as they could all band together to vote them off.  The only problem with that is that the producer’s will want both Rob and Russell to last as long as possible to increase the ratings and will probably do anything in their power to make that happen.  With so many possibilities, the only thing that’s for sure is that this season, no doubt, will be full of twists, turns, and excitement no matter who wins!
