There's a new trend in fashion going on, and it's all about the sweatshirt. It is acceptable for both men and women to wear sweatshirts as casual clothing these days, but men wear sweatshirts way more often than women. Perhaps the revolution for women's sweatshirts is just around the corner, eh? Sweatshirts haven't always been this popular. It wasn't until last decade that their popularity started rising.

Nobody really knows why, although there are people that have a theory about it. You see, sweatshirts are extremely cheap, comfortable, warm and they are also durable. With a sweatshirt, you get good value for money. With the recession having a grip on all of us, it's not such a big surprise that more and more of us are buying more and more sweatshirts these days.

Centuries ago, hooded clothing was already worn by monks in medieval times. Judging by the name of the sweatshirt, you'd think the shirt was meant for people to do physical activities in. For this reason, some people associate the sweatshirt with laziness. There is nothing wrong with wearing a sweatshirt and not doing anything, ofcourse.
