Swimming Pool Floats

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Swimming pool floats come in all shapes and colors (just like people). There are red ones which I'm sure everyone will remember from their childhood, and there are blue ones which blend in with the water a little more. There are small ones that can only fit a baby and then there are big pool floats that can handle any size of man or woman. Whatever you want, you can certainly find it at a pool store near you.

A lot of people think that these floats must cost way too much to be worth it for just a week of use on vacation. They couldn't be further from the truth. These items are about one of the cheapest toys that anyone has ever invented. It's like this with all old things. As long as they remain as functional and fun as they ever were, then their price will come down over time. Please don't let this stop you form getting in on the summer fun. You will surely come to regret it when your kids have nothing but water and dead bugs to play with.

I remember one summer, back during the Depression when my father was out of work. He was selling apples on the street in Brooklyn and it was just a really bad situation. We thought that we would never get to go to Coney Island again or any of that. In fact, the city pool even seemed off limits it was such a hard time.

But you know what? One day my dad sold a couple extra apples and we were able to afford some new pool floats, and couple of squrt guns. These were the best pool toys ever. This was maybe the greatest day of our young lives. I will never forget it.

The following day we went to that same city pool and we had our float and it was just oh so exciting. I have always appreciated the value of a penny since then!

Now, I didn't mean to diverge but you should know that swimming pool floats are about as cheap as anything on the market today, so don't be worried about that. The smiles on your children's faces will light your own smile up.

In the end, this is just a great method on which to float around the pool and quite frankly be lazy. Sip a martini and relax. Remember that summers are a long time in between so treasure your time.
