Swimming Pool Toys

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

It seems like just uttering the phrase "pool toys" will get everyone to start reminiscing about their early days. You should try the experiment. Just go up to a friend of yours and ask them to tell you a little about what they think about when they hear those words. You will probably have to sit down and listen to a twenty minute story about all the fun they had at their local pool every summer as a child growing up.

The New Pool Toys

The fact is that pool toys have come a long way since you and I were kids. Now the video game generation demands way more if they're going to step out into the sunlight. They want motorized pool toys. But not just any motor! It's got to be solar-powered with an iPod dock on it! Well, maybe not that last part.

My point is that technology has really evolved when it comes to the swimming pool.

The funny thing is, however, that all the old favorites still remain popular. Plain old pails and shovels still lie besides every swimming pool, along with more modern pool toys. Kids will bring boogie boards and pool floats in the water with them, as well as beach balls, basketballs, Nerf footballs, and all manner of other things. I guess the plain old water is just not enough for them anymore! Well, we've all had our extra implements over the years, so I can't blame them.

You can still buy them cheap!

The best thing about today's swimming pool toys may be that they're as affordable as ever. This makes it not such a big deal when your little, whiny one wants a new toy everyday. Fine, he can have it; after all it's only $1 for some of these cheap plastic things. That's why I think that swimming and playing are two of the best things that anyone can do during those months off from school in the middle of the year.

In the end, kids will always find a way to innovate, as will the toy companies, but some of the basics will never change. It's just too fun to skim a Frisbee across the water and your friend's head. In fact, this never gets old. Things like playing water volleyball or even polo are always a thrill. In fact, I wish I had some of those pool toys with me right now! I'd run right down to the local watering hole and take a dip
