As a dedicated fitness fanatic, getting in your daily run is a priority to you. If you are a competitive or long-distance runner, you may have thought that it wasn't possible to involve your dog in your training routine. One option is to look into any one of a number of dog strollers. There are a number of makes on the market with many specifically designed for human runners.

Walking or running is great exercise for people and dogs alike. Just as our doctors encourage us to take part in regular exercise, so do vets stress the need for dogs to be outdoors walking or running on a daily basis. Pet strollers can be the answer in meeting both needs.

Simple logistical facts dictate that not all humans and dogs are matched stride for stride and step for step. If your pooch is on the mini-side, chances are that he/she will just not be able to keep up with you if you are a serious runner. Even if your dog is larger, if you are a long distance fanatic, Fido may just not be inclined to want to be in marathon training along with you. Dog strollers provided a much needed rest and ride for your loyal friend.

Running behind a pet stroller can also add a new element to your workout. With your pup on board, you are going to have the benefits of resistance training, especially if your route involves any inclines. You may also increase your agility as you learn to maneuver your stroller around obstacles.

Dog strollers are a great way to enjoy the outdoors and your four-legged friends. Both you and your pets can benefit from regular daily exercise. Whether your love is competitive training, long distance running or simply strolling around the neighborhood, you can continue to enjoy this with your dog, even as it ages.
