Taking Pictures of a Wedding Other Than the Professional

By Edited Jan 11, 2016 0 0

Every professional photographer has experience to be a wedding photographer. For years, they have a lot of wedding photo collection in their portfolios. You can browse his collection of photos such as the groom kissing his bride, the slicing of the cake, the releasing of the dove, the throwing of the bouquet and others. He is in-charge of almost all the unforgettable moments of the couple from the church to the reception area.

You don’t need to be a professional photographer to be able to take pictures on a wedding. You should just have the skill and the ability to do so. If you are a member of the family and you have a talent in capturing images or taking pictures, you should apply it on every wedding of any person in your clan. If you are assigned to do the job, you need to be knowledgeable and here are some lists to follow:

(1) Always remember that aside from the photographer hired by the couple, you also have the responsibility just like them. Let the photographer do his thing and do your thing on your own. You might have great ideas but do not underestimate the hired photographer because he has also a lot of ideas to offer. Give respect. Don’t let him feel that he is not good in photography. Do not go into his location because he might get irritated on you.

(2) Always be prepared. Prepare all the equipments you need on the big day, just like professionals are doing. This means that you should double check all the cameras, the lighting equipment and some tools which help you to take pictures effectively. Through this, you might as well produce copy of pictures dissimilar from the photographer’s copy. You might also make an album for the groom and the bride distinct and original compared to the other photographer.

(3) Maintain originality on your work. The paid photographer might be following a step by step procedures or lists in taking pictures. They may miss some portion of the event which you might capture in your camera. Your rule is to make shots out of the way of the photographer. Stay from the other side of the location of the photographer when taking pictures so that you will not disturb him in his job.

(4) Sometimes, you will be able to come up with better equipment than the professional photographer. Using a mobile phone might as well help you to take pictures informally. The great thing is that you can go around and click your button anytime. Oftentimes, you will be able to capture funny moments which the paid photographer missed because his only concentration is his detailed job.

Do not forget that you are not the one who is entitled in capturing moments, but you may capture images which are not on the lists of the photographer. Enjoy taking photographs as you enjoy on being in the scene. If you are needed to join the bride and the groom, let the photographer takes pictures of you.
