Tanzanite Rings
Tanzanite has been named after Tanzania, the only place in the world where it is found. It is an amazing gemstone, with blue coloring surrounded by purple. The blue coloring ranges from an ultramarine blue to a light violet blue. Depending on what angle you view it from tanzanite will appear blue, purple or brownish-yellow. This is a shiny, sparkly stone that can be faceted for extra beauty. Tanzanite was first discovered in 1967, and was enthusiastically named the 'gemstone of the twentieth century' by specialists. Tanzanite is formed of calcium aluminum silicate, and must be treated carefully, as it scratches more easily than diamonds. Ultrasonic baths for cleaning and acids may damage any tanzanite jewelry.
Tanzanite rings have a beauty all their own. Because of the way that they can be faceted, many lovely designs are possible. Paired hearts facing away from each other and divided by a strip of diamonds in a silver ring makes for a wonderful piece of jewelry. A simple round cut shows off the color of the tanzanite. Put it into a tanzanite ring and have a strip of diamonds on either side of it, and simple elegance is gracing your finger. A petite circle cut tanzanite stone flanked by two diamonds makes a perfect ring for a young lady. Claddagh and Celtic style rings look wonderful when graced by tanzanite stones. A square cut stone flanked by square cut diamonds will look good for generations to come. Of course, you can combine tanzanite with other colored stones for unique and lovely pieces.
Tanzanite lends itself to the more modern styles of ring. There is a tanzanite ring which has two gently curved triangles 'kissing' in an openwork ring with a two bands of diamonds above to either side of the stones and two bands of diamonds below and to either side of them. This is an unusual piece that will be admired wherever you go. A tanzanite ring with a loop of white gold on either side of the oval stone, accented with diamonds will look well on any finger.
You can find an oval tanzanite stone in a nest of six diamonds set in white gold for a beautiful ring. A more ornate setting has a teardrop shaped tanzanite stone surrounded by twenty-six sparkling diamonds set in white gold. Ten diamonds surround an oval tanzanite stone with a bamboo-look band in this lovely and unusual ring. You can find an oval tanzanite stone snuggled into a smooth white gold setting accented with a single diamond, for a ring that protects the tanzanite while still showing it off. An eye-catching ring has a teardrop shaped setting with five stones inside it, showing off the colors of a pointed oval tanzanite, an oval peridot, a round mandarin garnet, a princess cut aquamarine, and a pear shaped pink tourmaline as they snuggle together.
If you are looking for beautiful and unusual rings, tanzanite rings are likely to catch your eye.
