Teeth Whitening Choices: When You Have To Think Beyond Your Toothpaste?!

By Edited Jun 22, 2015 0 1

Teeth whitening may be considered as a powerful alternative if you get bored of using your toothpaste and not having the bright and shiny smile that you wish. The dream of attractive and shiny smile has been the main target of advertisers in order to market their tooth products like toothpaste and others. Due to this fierce competition among them, new options have been developed to help people whiten their teeth efficiently and easily.

One of these options is what we are discussing now which is teeth whitening.  People who have discolored teeth due to age, smoking or whatever are considered the best candidates. As teeth whitening was getting popular a lot of people have decided to try it and see if it's worth or not, this has lead to developing of various ways that people may use to get their teeth whitened.

 Here are some of them:

 1. Teeth whitening systems

This is a whole package that you may use to whiten your teeth at home. They may contain whitening gels that should be placed in your mouth for certain number of times. In order to get the desired result you should follow the instructions that come with the package. If you decide to purchase those teeth whitening systems you may set $100 to $500 a side as a budget. My advice to you is not go too high and also don't go too cheap because at the end those are your teeth. Before purchasing those systems you should look at their labels to see if they are approved by the American dental association or not, most of them will, but you should check to be sure that they won't harm you.

 2. Professional teeth whitening

It means that teeth whitening are done under the supervision of a dentist. Certain steps should be done before teeth whitening, one of them is that you should be examined by dentist to see whether teeth whitening will be suitable for you or not then he will advise you with the best teeth whitening option for you.

The dentist then will tell you about what you can expect from this procedure, as this may vary from one person to another in order to imagine what you will get before actual steps start, also before you do teeth whitening the dentist will check your teeth to make sure they are clean and then take a look at your gums to see if they are healthy or not.

Finally I'd like to say that the two types won't give you permanent white teeth. So you should take care of your teeth and discuss this with your dentist in to get shiny, bright and attractive smile for longer time.

Very nice article. For teeth whitening kits, I would suggest to look for reviews either online of from friends. Many of these type of kits (in the UK at least) have been found not to work very well or not at all as they contain too little active ingredients. This is because above a certain amount of active ingredient, you have to be a qualified dentist to be able to apply it.
