I have a weakness in books, and it is a very specific weakness. I cannot get enough historical fiction. However, it is not just any old historical fiction, it is historical fiction that is from the perspective of a female during the Tudors era in England and Europe. Surprisingly, there are plenty of books and authors available to quench that thirst.
This list has the 10 most anticipated historical fiction novels coming out in 2014, and I promise they aren't just Tudor era novels from the perspective of women.

Author: Tamera Alexander; Release Date: March 23, 2014
Number three on my list is an American historical fiction novel that is the second book in the Belmont Mansion series. While the frilly cover initially turned me off, one sentence in the description immediately turned my senses around:
A clandestine act of kindness leads Eleanor to an unlikely path for her life--building a home for destitute widows and children from the Civil War.
One of my favorite historical fiction books growing up was about a woman who was a nurse during the Civil War, so this one touched my heart. Based in Nashville, Eleanor Braddock tries to work with her despised Aunt to build the home but finds failure until the Archduke of the House of Habsburg arrives in town. They build the home, and a relationship, together but their love for each other risks falling apart at the end.

She convinces Detective Nick Barone to teach her jiu-jitsu and, perhaps expectantly, the forced friendship turns into something more. However, one day Nick disappears without a trace and Allison is in despair and wonders if she can ever trust someone to love again.
1. The Collector of Dying Breaths: A Novel of Suspense
Author: M.J. Rose; Release Date: April 8, 2014
Number one on our list of the top most anticipated historical fiction novels in 2014 is The Collector of Dying Breaths. What an exciting novel title! While this does not fall under my personal weakness, I know I am going to have to pick this one up. It is partly based in 1533, and the story surrounds an orphan boy with a knack for perfumes. He is asked to be Catherine de Medici's perfumer and goes from a life of poverty to one of comfort.
To repay his debt to the Queen, he occasionally makes her poisons to rid her of her rivals. This has led to a new fascination for him: reanimating life.
Five centuries later Jac L’Etoile finds out about the perfumer and sets on a quest to discover the secret to immortality. This book jumps back and forth between the past and the present, contains suspense and historical fiction, and is definitely not one to miss.
