Tenerife Villas To Rent For Your Ideal European Holiday

By | Mar 18, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Ever since Spain started attracting visitors in the 1960's, it has been a very popular destination for Europeans. Although not the amazing bargain it was thirty or forty years ago, Spain is still blessed with sunny skies, great beaches, a vibrant culture, spectacular scenery, and architectural splendours.

The southern part of Spain is especially attractive with its long warm summers with practically no rain, its fabulous beach resorts, and the strong Moorish influence due to the fact that this part of Spain was under Islamic rule for many centuries. Even farther south, you should consider visiting the Canary Islands in the winter to escape the cold. Tenerife is the largest of these islands and is an especially attractive choice for English speakers, since a great many English speakers have taken up residence there and English is widely understood by the native Spaniards.

The Canary Islands are off of the coast of West Africa and feature dry warm weather all year. Tenerife, which in addition to being the largest island has the largest population with about 900,000 people, has many natural wonders in addition to its fine resorts. Its Mt.Teide is the highest mountain in Spain at 3,718 meters, and is an active volcano that is the third largest in the world. This mountain dominates the landscape and is within a magnificent national park.

Because of the widely varying elevation and rainfall in different parts of the island there are diverse climate zones, with some areas being very arid but others subtropical and green. The coastline is mostly steep and rugged, with one area having cliffs of five hundred meters, but there are many wonderful beaches, especially in the south and southwest.

If you vacation here, there are many fine Tenerife villas to choose from, but young couples especially should consider renting villas in Tenerife. There are many available in resorts such as Los Cristianos in the south, or the quieter northern resort of Puerto de la Cruz. Holiday apartments in Tenerife range in price all the way from about 120 Euros per week to 1500 or more.

The best way to locate Tenerife villas is by going online and checking the many websites devoted to Tenerife accommodation. For example, at ownersdirect.co.uk, you can find a wonderfully secluded villa in the small town of El Tanque in the north. This is a ten minute drive from the charming coastal town of Garachico, which has the most beautiful plaza in Tenerife and natural rock pools for swimming. Another good website for villas is homeaway.com. Enjoy a romantic getaway in Tenerife!
