The 2 Best Tampa Florida Attractions for Summer

Busch Gardens

335 acres of Africa-themed Summer fun anchors Tampa Bay’s tourist attractions with something for everyone in the family.

Rides, rides, rides! Busch Gardens Tampa is famous for having some of the most unique, cutting edge roller coasters in the world. Cheetah Hunt takes you up through the tree tops where you can see for miles, down onto the plains so you can experience the thrill of the hunt. Montu leaves your legs dangling in the air as you speed through 7 inversions at 3.85Gs, a roller-coaster-lover’s roller coaster. Joined by Gwazi, Kumba, SheiKra and more, Busch Gardens’ reputation is well deserved.

Make sure you bring suits for the kids, because they will not be able to resist splashing around at Bert & Ernie’s Safari of Fun in the Sesame Street Safari of Fun section. Take the kid-sized roller coaster, Air Grover, for a spin, explore Elmo’s Treehouse and then catch a show at the Sunny Day Theater. It will be hard to get the little ones to leave!

But the real attraction at Busch Gardens is how close you can get to and interact with the animals of Africa. Take a truck tour through the Serengeti, get close to the Great Apes on the Myombe Reserve, or feed Lorikeets in Lory Landing. You will find memorable animal encounters at every turn.

The best place to start your Busch Gardens experience is their fabulous interactive map – get planning!

Adventure Island

While you may get wet on the Floom or playing in the fountains with the kids at Busch Gardens, it’s hard to find a place to stay DRY at Adventure Island Water Park. Really part of the Busch Gardens franchise, Adventure Island is right across the street from your trip through Africa, but worlds apart nonetheless.  Put on your swim suit and get ready for some fun and cool relief from the summer heat.

Endless Surf is a 17,000 square foot wave pool that will have you body surfing 5’ swells.

Fabian’s Fun Port is a great place for the little ones to get their fill of pint sized fun. Perfect for those parts of the family not ready for the big pool.

Paradise Lagoon is your own slice of island life! Jump off a cliff, swing out on a vine rope or play under a cool waterfall.

After you’ve spent most of the day chasing each other through the water wonderlands of Spike Zone and Splash Attack, head over to the family favorite way to wind down. Hop in an inner tube and float down the Rambling Bayou. One-half mile of peacefully passing through the rainforest is the perfect end to an exciting day.
