The official song [1]of the worldwide Pathfinder youth organization is short, sweet and packed with meaning. Let's take a closer look.
Oh, we are the Pathfinders strong,
The servants of God are we
Faithful as we march along,
In kindness, truth, and purity
A Message to tell to the world
A truth that will set us free!
King Jesus the Savior's coming back
For you, and me!

This song is sung around the world in hundreds of languages by youth who have joined youth clubs.  Let's take a closer look at the importance of each line to those who sing it.

Oh, we are the Pathfinders strong

The first thing is to take ownership of the organization and your part in it.  Pathfinders are part of a worldwide army of youth - citizen volunteers in uniform - not just training for service, but already in service. Pathfinders are not weak or wimpy either, but strong - like God's Army Strong.

God says "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." Deuteronomy 31:6 and

"The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger." Job 17:9

The servants of God are we

Pathfinders from across Europe sing the Pathfinder Song together in this UK camporee.  All Pathfinders need to be the servants of God in everything we do.   The many honors that require community service help reinforce this great truth.

Faithful as we march along

Being faithful is not just about marching, though we do that very well, but about marching forward in faith.  This drill team is doing a great job though!  They appear to be from Riverside California.

In kindness, truth, and purity

Here Pathfinders in the country of Samoa sing in both their native language and English about being faithful, true and pure.  These words are pulled from the Pathfinder Pledge and represent the ideas we all should strive for in our lives.

A Message to tell to the world

The organization logo, as seen on this scarf, shows the world because we have a message of hope and good news for the whole earth.  However, the world starts right at home with our friends and neighbors. No one can tell the whole world the good news so we must each start with the people we can reach nearby and work outward from there.

A truth that will set us free!

Pathfinders are a freedom army.  You sign up for life, but you are not bound in slavery. Pathfindering gives you freedom to live an abundant life now and for eternity.
Here in the club you are free to grow and learn, tackle new honors and gain new friends and experiences.

King Jesus the Savior's coming back For you, and me!

At the end of the Pathfinder Song is the crux of the matter - our King is coming back for all of us, all the Pathfinders in the world, all the believers on the earth, and yes, you and me.  Will we be ready?  How can we as Pathfinders tell others the fantastic news?

This line is reminicent of the Great Commission:  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

There are Pathfinders in almost every country and we can go to the rest.  Together we can share the gospel with everyone, just like the song commands.  Are ou ready to be a true Pathfinder?
