The Average Cost of Laser Hair Removal

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

The cost of laser hair removal varies a lot from person to person and location to location, so it is very hard to get a good grasp on what a procedure will ultimately cost you without looking at the websites or laser hair clinics or going in for a free personal consultation. Price can depend on where you live, the type of laser treatment you use, the body part you need to have hair removed from, and the amount and type of hair you have.

The way that hair grows on our body is drastically different for everyone, which is why it is hard to pin down an exact number. If you have lighter hair, treatment will generally cost more and won't be as effective as if you have darker hair because the darker hairs will attract the light from the laser easier. However, cost should not be your only criteria when choosing a laser hair removal clinic. Also take into account quality. If you can get a quality job done for a slightly higher price, it will reduce the chances of some hairs growing back from the treatment, which may ultimately lead to a lower price when you have to go in to have some portions of the treated area trimmed up.

Costs of Laser Hair Removal

There are several different ways that doctors charge patients for laser hair removal. They can charge a flat fee, for time, or a fee per pulse. A flat fee is negotiated before the procedure and can be made to cover each appointment or the entire treatment. Time charges are generally done in units of fifteen minutes for a certain cost. And finally a fee per pulse will charge you a fee, one or two dollars, for every pulse that the laser emits.

You may want to look into several different clinics that have different pricing schemes to figure out which billing works out best for you. While it may be confusing at first, the fortunate thing is that for most people the prices work out to be close to the same, with a few dollars in savings going one way or the other.

Average Cost of Laser Hair Removal

While you cannot know for sure what your specifics costs of laser removal will be until you have a consultation, you can establish a ballpark figure for what a service will cost. Bikini hair removal is generally one of the cheapest areas per session, costing around $250. Facial and arm hair removal will also cost about this much. For men, chest hair removal will cost a little more, around $300, while back hair removal costs a whopping $650 per session on average. This is because of the much larger area that has to be treated. If you only have hair on areas of you lower back, you may have a much cheaper per session bill.

For complete removal of hair, you generally need to have five or six sessions per body part. Your back is the exception to this and may take as many as eight different treatments. So, for the total procedure, facial hair removal comes in on the low end at $2700 for six sessions. Bikini area and arm hair removal will cost about slightly more than this. If you want to remove the hair from your legs, you can expect to pay around $3600 for a full eight sessions and if you want to keep your back baby smoothing your bill will be somewhere around $4400 for eight sessions.

As I said before, these are only ballpark figures and you will need to visit a practice before you will know for sure what your treatment will exactly cost.

Bartering Down Prices

Laser hair removal prices can be pretty steep. However, there are some things that you can do to barter down the price with your clinic. By far the most effective method for lowering your overall price is to try to pay all your money upfront in exchange for a discount. You can also try to ask to see if the clinic is running any special offers. You can also try to get a discount by brining friends or grouping services together. Many clinics will offer a discount if you bring a friend or if you want to use the same place for more than one laser procedure.

The cost of laser hair removal is steep, but it is the only method of hair removal that, if done properly, will keep unwanted hair off of your body for good. If the price seems like a large lump sum now, think of all the shaving and waxing equipment you will have to buy for the next five years and the time you will be spending nicking your skin and pulling your hair out by its roots. Laser hair removal begins to seem like a very, very good option when thought of in this way.
