The Bellagio Hotel and Casino was built where the old Dunes hotel and Casino used to stand. Steve Wynn's company purchased the old Dunes Hotel and Casino and then had it imploded in 1993. The Bellagio Hotel and Casino opened for business in October of 1998.
The Bellagio Hotel and Casino is a deluxe hotel. One of the most popular attractions at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is the "Fountains Of Bellagio". The Fountains Of Bellagio make the fountains at Caesars Palace look like a toddlers toy. The fountains Of Bellagio was estimated to have cost over 70 million dollars to build.
The Bellagio Hotel and Casino is home
to the world famous show Cirque DE Soleil.
I am not a fan of the Bellagio. Steve Wynn was personally involved in the demolition of historic casinos such as the Dunes and the Desert Inn. Because of Steve Wynn the city of Las Vegas began to implode many more historic hotels too make way for new fancy hotels. Steve Wynn has no shame about destroying much of the Historic Las Vegas hotels and casinos.
Steve Wynn destroyed the historic Las Vegas strip. How the hell can you rip out the Desert Inn? I do however give Steve Wynn much credit for helping revamp and revitalize the downtown area of Las Vegas.
One of the major highlights for may people who visit the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is the casinos sports book area. The Bellagios sports book and horse betting area has 200 seats and 137 televisions. You definitely do not have to fight for a seat or worry about a good view of the TV when you are at the The Bellagio Hotel and Casinos sports book.
The rooms at the The Bellagio Hotel and Casino are beginning to age a little. They are obviously much nicer then the Oasis Motel but they are not truly a AAA 5 diamond rating. If you want luxurious look elsewhere. If you want cheap look elsewhere. If you want an atmosphere that does not have it's noses stuck up in the air look elsewhere. If you want a room with an awesome view of the Bellagio Fountains then try the Caesars Palace and get a room in the Augustus towers. The Augustus towers have rooms that have a view of the Bellagio Fountains.
