The Benefits of Drinking More Water

By Edited Dec 18, 2013 0 0

How Water Helps You

You don't need to entirely change your diet in order to experience the effects of a healthy choice, as there are many simple, powerful techniques available for enhancing your diet. Of course, the more completely you change your diet for the better, the better you will feel, but even if you can only take a few steps, that will still provide benefit. Making even one simple change can be effective, and the advice that follows is truly one of the easiest things you can do.

Just drinking more water can increase the quality of your health on all fronts. This shouldn't be much of a suprise, as water is necessary for the survival of every living organism in the world. When you give your body more of this critical source of life, you are feeding the processes that make you live and breathe. For example, water is used directly or indirectly in millions of chemical reactions, to lubricate the organs, and to clean out waste. As water levels decrease, these chemical processes and organ functions start to weaken. You can replenish your body quickly by downing an eight-ounce glass whenever the opportunity arises. Even if you're not thirsty, drinking water is the ideal preventative measure for dehydration.

Another benefit to drinking more water is that it subsequently reduces your consumption of bad drinks. Americans consume massive amounts of soda and sugary beverages, which sometimes account for up to 25% of caloric intake. By replacing these drinks with water, you can eliminate a significant amount of empty calories from your diet. Too much sugar causes debilitating problems like low energy, fatique, sickness, and even cancer, especially given that many sodas contain artificial ingredients and preservatives. Water protects you from that and enriches your body in the most natural way possible.

9 times out of 10, water is the best drink for you. Juice is overly high in sugar, sports drinks like Gatorade are highly processed, and milk is high in saturated fat. There are some pure superfruit juices like not-from-concentrate acai and noni juices which are rich in antioxidants, but you can't live off them due to their high cost. Stick with water, drink it as much as you can, and you'll feel the benefits fast.
