1. Fiber – Oatmeal is an excellent source of fiber and helps to aid in the digestive processes of the human body. Not only can a bowl of oatmeal provide up to 20% of the needed amount of fiber in a person's diet, but that fiber is both soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber in oatmeal is excellent for lowering cholesterol, while insoluble fiber is excellent for digestion. It's a win either way with oatmeal.

2. Immunity Booster – Oatmeal has the benefit of helping to boost a person's immune system to harmful sicknesses and diseases. Oatmeal is a source for beta-glucans which have the ability to fight off infections and ward of viruses and bacteria. It is also said to have cancer fighting properties.

3. Nutrients – Oatmeal is an excellent source of nutrients, since own bowl of oats provides a person with a health dose of essential vitamins and minerals. It is said to contain a health amount of vitamin B, vitamin E, iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium, copper, manganese, and protein.

4. Great Taste – Oatmeal tastes great when sweetened with anything from raw sugar to honey, stevia to fruits. If you really want to eat oats in a healthy way, cut up some banana and throw some blueberries in there. Not only does it have a delicious flavor, but the nutrients and vitamins from the fruits themselves only help to make the oats a great meal choice.

5. Easy To Prepare – Oatmeal is one of those meals that give you all of the benefits and nearly none of the waiting time. A bowl of good old fashioned oats can be made in 5 – 10 minutes, depending on what you want to do with it. It's a great choice for a good breakfast.
