Full Review

In this article I would like to tell you about the 5 toys that would make great Christmas gifts for a 0-12 month old child. I love each of these toys and think they would make any child of this age happy!

1.) The Playskool Busy Basics Busy Poppin' Pals $13.99 9-24 mos

This toy has been around for years and I have watched my daughter go back to this one repeatedly, she loves it! It has 6 separate animals that pop up when the corresponding button, switch, lever or key is activated. This is such a great busy toy for little ones and promotes problem solving as they learn how to work each different section. The animals that pop up are cute and brightly colored and your little one will love seeing them appear and equally enjoy pressing them closed again!

2.) Sophie the Giraffe $21.99 Birth & up

Some people may think this is a lot to spend on a toy that doesn't have any bells and whistles, but it is worth the price and more. My 6 month old daughter is obsessed with this giraffe. It is made from natural rubber and food-grade paint that is perfect for little ones to chew on while teething. It is super soft and when squeezed, it emits a delightful little squeak. There are so many spots on this giraffe that are perfect for tiny hands to grab and hold on to. While it may seem boring to adults, kids the world over have been loving this toy for many, many years.

3.) Leap Frog Learn & Groove Musical Table $44.99 6 mos & up

As I am writing this, my 6-month old daughter is playing with this and having a blast! It comes with legs for kids who can stand, but they are easily removable so it can be placed on the floor for babies. Almost everywhere you touch on this awesome toy activates the lights and music. The music mode is my personal favorite and there are more than 40 songs and melodies that play for your child's enjoyment. In learning mode, your child will learn about shapes, colors, numbers 1-20, and the alphabet. Not to mention, the fun gadgets on this thing! There is a trombone, cello, banjo, piano, drums and more. This toy is a pleaser for many years and a worthwhile investment. It also has a low/hi volume switch for moms!

4.) Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Soothe & Glow Seahorse $13.99 Birth - 18 mos

This toy is a lot like the glow worm that my kids have and love. It is a soothing toy that your child can take to bed with them and Fisher Price has improved on the original design. It needs only a gentle squeeze to activate and from there plays over 5 minutes of soothing music and ocean sounds before gently fading away so that it doesn't wake baby. There is a low/hi volume switch along with a lights-only mode. There are 8 different songs and 2 separate ocean tracks on this cute seahorse which you can find in pink or blue. This one is a definite classic and can be very useful for soothing a tired baby at night in the car!

5.) Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Poppity-Pop Dump Truck $5.99 6mos - 3 years

This adorable little dump truck makes a fabulously noisy popping sound when it is rolled on the floor. Colorful beads bounce and pop around and your child will be mesmerized by the great popping sound and the shiny, reflective interior. This one is a good, simple toy that a baby will love to smack around!

I have always found it difficult to buy Christmas gifts to babies younger than 1 year old. You tips make is easy to buy gifts that the baby wants rather than giving clothes which more pleases the parents. Thank you!
