The Best Decorating Websites Make Thrifty Decorating Easy!

I’d like to review my choices for five of the best craft blogs and best decorating websites on the web. Many wonderfully talented individuals and creative crafters have created their own decorating on a budget blog or websites.

Many of these blogs and websites garner huge page views and posses a devoted following of fans as these very talented crafters and thrift decorators share their love for crafting, make money off their respective niche blogs and demonstrate their creative, savvy and cheap decorating ideas. All of these top five and best decorating on a budget blogs or websites have a presence on Facebook. Some of them have many pins and boards on Pinterest. Don't miss out on exploring these top sites for many lovely and unique DIY and crafting projects. Continue to hunt thrift stores for items to renovate and refurbish cheaply with these masters of budget-friendly decorating to guide and inspire more of your own budget DIY projects.

Many of the founders of these craft blogs are non-professionals who love decorating for less and have a real knack for finding frugal and inexpensive ways to decorate. They are also equally good at presenting their work and instructing others how to replicate their crafts and furniture makeovers. Kudos to them for sharing their talent and home decorating tips on a budget. While many of these excellent do-it-yourself crafters and home decorating experts are non-professionals, as mentioned, their talent and finesse for helping others and for thrifty decorating is outstanding.

2) Centsational Girl

Decorating for less

This is Kate's motto. She is a mom from Northern, California whose Centsational blog garners 1.5 million page views per month as stated on her about me page. Kate has been featured online, in print, and on TV on such shows as the Nate Berkus show. Look for project galleries, clear how-to tips and great pictures.  Kate prefers to spend time with her family instead of posting video tutorials.

Centsational Girl features occasional giveaways. I especially like her painting furniture posts and her recommendations. They are quite detailed for those who don’t have much experience painting or the knowledge of how to best paint old furniture.  Also look for Centsational Girl's many beautiful and fabulous decorating ideas and tips on her many Pinterest boards.

3) CraftyNest

Upcycling and recycling

CraftyNest is run by Monica Ewing and it's one of the more user-friendly sites offering beautiful online crafting ideas. Better still all decorating ideas found here feature frugal DIY projects and cheap room decorating ideas. Ewing states on her site that she loves to upcycle and recycle unwanted items. I especially like the Reader's Gallery on CraftyNest, a unique feature on her site, that demonstrates the finished products and steps taken or modified by others as they complete her helpful and first rate tutorials.

4) How About Orange

All things orange

Orange is such an amazing color for any use from fabric crafts and interior design to KitchenAid mixers in tangerine for the kitchen. One of the first posts I saw on How About Orange is the post about KitchenAid's artisan mixer in tangerine. This is a terrific site with lots of innovative and creative yet inexpensive decorating projects to try. Created by a graphic and textiles designer, How About Orange, features free downloads for origami paper crafts and fabric patterns, downloadable fonts, customisable calendars and printable holiday tags, cards and labels. Currently, How About Orange is a Bloggie finalist for being a rock star in the "best art, craft, or design weblog" category.

5) Design*Sponge

$$ Project costs for cheap decorating ideas

My favorite feature on Design*Sponge blog created by Grace Bonney is the dollar signs that figure prominently on the site next to each DIY or creative decorating project. I don't know of any other blog that presents this data as clearly as the Design Sponge team does on their site as compared to similar websites or blogs. Design Sponge truly features superlative craft, cheap decorating ideas and fun do-it-yourself projects as do these other blogs and websites.
