The Best Original Gift Ideas for Fathers Day

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Finding a gift for dad on father's day can be quite difficult. It's bad enough trying to give him gifts during his birthday and Christmas. And I'm sure every dad has enough ties, golf balls, and wallets to last them a lifetime. So this Father's Day try getting him a gift that he doesn't see coming. To help you with are some original gift ideas for Father's day

For the Dad who Loves to Grill

It's hard to think of anything manlier than a man who loves grilling. If this describes your dad, try going beyond the elaborate grill sets to some of the more unique grilling implements such as:

· A Remote temperature probe - so he doesn't have to babysit the grilling (but still can if he wants to)

· A Charcoal Smoker/Grill – expand his grilling into the world of smoking meats. There are a number of reasonable entry level smokers that are affordable and can entice your dad into the flavorful world of smoking meat.

· A Steak of the Month club – There's nothing that will show your dad how much you care than delicious meat delivered to his door, every month. No matter what level of grilling skill, steaks are a fail-safe gift that everyone loves (he might even share some with you). A steak of the month club review will give you a good idea of what's out there and what a good price is.

For the Mechanically Inclined Dad

What dad isn't proud of his part of the garage where he can work on his car or lawn mower or whatever he darn well wants. If your dad is a bit of a grease monkey, check out these ideas:

· A Garage heater – extend the time he spends in the garage to include the cold winter months with a heater. They range from small localized radiant heaters to serious 75,000 BTU heat the-whole-garage-and-then-some heaters.

· Power Tools – I know that you see ads for this everywhere and that this idea is hardly original but you can never have enough power tools. Go for a nice high end screw gun, highest voltage you can afford. That'll last him for a long time.

· A Garage Fridge – Because you never want to be too far from your refreshments. Knowing how much time my dad spends in the garage I know that he could use a nice under the counter fridge for storing some cold ones. They even have ones that look like tool cabinets (so mom will never know!)

For the Sophisticated Alcohol Connoisseur Dad

Some dad's love to grill, some love to get dirty under the hood of a car, and some dads prefer to quaff a fine alcoholic beverage of many different varieties. If you dad has a taste for the finer (and more expensive) drinks in life try getting him one of the following:

· A Beer of the Month Club – If your dad can't get enough of the local selection of microbrewed beers then he'll no doubt love a beer of the month club. Offering beers from around the country or around the globe, a beer of the month club delivers a case of excitement and delight every month. Don't count on him sharing it though.

· A fine bottle of 12 year old Scotch – If hard alcohol is your dad's thing, then he may enjoy a nice bottle of Scotch (or whiskey or bourbon). You can buy older and more expensive spirits but 12 years is a nice age that has all the characteristics of a well aged spirit and all of the pretentiousness to go with it.

· A Wine of the Month Club – If neither beer nor spirit's do the trick, then perhaps wine is more to his palate. Having so many different subtleties of the region and season, each bottle of wine has its very own story for anyone who wants to listen. A wine club is a perfect way to introduce your dad to numerous variety and character of all regions of wine. Just beware they can get pricey.
