Chicken wings are synonymous with the city of Buffalo. One of the best places to eat chicken wings is The Anchor Bar, where the idea for wings was born. The recipe was created by Teresa Bellissimo in 1964 and has been served at the Anchor Bar ever since.

The chicken wings come in a range of heat, from mild to suicidal. Each is served with bleu cheese dressing and a side of celery to cool your mouth. There are also a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, pasts, fried fish and pizza on the menu for those who don’t want to eat wings.

Tacos, burritos, fajitas, roastitios, and salads are available, as well as the classic Loganberry drink.. There is even a gluten-free menu. Second to the Buffalo chicken wing, another classic Western New York food is Beef on Weck. This sandwich is comprised of three parts:

The Kummelweck roll (weck for short), which has caraway seeds and salt (roll is dipped in au jus)

Duff’s Famous Wings has three locations-Amherst, Buffalo and Depew, as well as three more restaurants in Ontario. Serving chicken wings since 1969, the restaurant creates wings seasoned from mild to Armageddon, so there is one kind of heat sure to please your palate. Duff’s Famous Wings also offers sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, and a variety of fried appetizers.

Anderson's Frozen Custard

After devouring lunch or dinner, you might be craving something cold and sweet. Anderson’s Frozen Custard is one of the best places to eat in Buffalo, New York to get your custard fix.

Originally opened in the Bronx, New York in 1946, the Anderson family returned to Buffalo and opened a second custard stand. It is still family owned and operated, and has multiple locations throughout the Western New York area.

Anderson’s offers food, but the main attraction is the delightful frozen desserts. Besides frozen custard, there are sundaes, milkshakes, yogurt, smoothies, hard ice cream, and flavored ices.
