Mad Men Returns
After almost a year and a half Mad Men finally returned to the television lineup.
Creators of Mad Men remained mum on the content for season five, but launched an aggressive advertising campaign to draw viewers back to the weekly drama.
The show is a remarkable look into life inside a Manhattan advertising agency in the early 1960's. Every detail of the show is accurate from the fashion to the equipment to the conflicting roles of men and women.

John Hamm as Dan Draper
Dan Draper is a heavy drinking, chain smoking, womanizer, and junior partner in the in the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. Draper carries a dark and heavy secret. His real name is Dick Whitman. He stole the identity of Dan Draper after the real Draper was killed in combat during the Korean War.
John Hamm was born on March 10th, 1971 in St. Louis Missouri. He obtained a university degree in English and returned to his home town to teach acting to eighth graders.
Hamm moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and worked as a waiter while awaiting his big break in show business. He landed some small parts but the big break didn't come till 2007 when he beat out 80 other actors who auditioned for the role of Don Draper.
January Jones as Betty Draper
Betty Draper is the quintessential 1960's stay at home Mom. Her relationship with Don is often strained and whn she discovers his extra marital affairs she ends the marriage. After she and Don reunite for a one night stand Betty discovers she is pregnant with their third child. She divorces Don and remarries.
As the show progresses Betty becomes less submissive and more dominant in her treatment of her children and new husband.
January Jones was born January 05, 1978 in Sioux Falls, North Dakota.
After high school she moved to New York to work as a model. She then moved on to commercials and small roles on television and film before landing the role of Peggy Draper on Mad Men.
Elisabeth Moss as Peggy Olson
Peggy Olson begins her career at Sterling Cooper as Don Draper's secretary but is soon promoted to junior copywriter, a position usually reserved for men. She proves to be very adept at advertising, particularly in products aimed towards women.
Throughout season one Olson becomes increasingly heavy and leaves fans speechless in the season's episode finale by going into labour and delivering a baby fathered by Pete Campbell.
In the modern day she is a role model for women's liberation.
Elisabeth Moss was born July 28, 1982 in Los Angeles.
Before being cast as Peggy Olson, Moss had numerous TV and film roles. The most notable was her portrayal of Zoey Bartlet on the television drama West Wing.
Vincent Kartheiser as Pete Campbell
Pete Campbell is an extremely ambitious account manager at Sterling Cooper. That ambition leads him to try to blackmail Don Draper when he learns about Draper's true identity. Campbell at times appears slimey but remains dedicated to the firm and he and Don develop a tenuous friendship. Campbell and his new wife Trudy are experiencing difficulty trying to conceive. In season two Peggy Olson tells Campbell about the son he fathered.
Vincent Kartheiser was born May 05, 1979 in Minneopolis, Minnesota.
He had lead roles in the movies Untamed Heart, The Indian in the Cupboard and Alaska as well as a reoccurring role in the TV series Angel before being cast as Pete Campbell on Mad Men.
John Slatterly as Roger Sterling
Roger Sterling is one of the senior partners at Sterling Cooper. Like Don Draper, he is a heavy smoker, heavy drinker and a womanizer. He has had a long time affair with office manager Joan Holloway but that ends after his second heart attack. Sterling divorces his wife Mona who helped him recover from his heart attacks. He marries Draper's conniving secretary Jane.

Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris
Joan Harris is the very sexy and very competent office manager at Sterling and Cooper. After her affair with Roger Sterling ends she marries a young surgeon and leaves the firm. When her husband has difficulty in finding work in his specialty she returns to work at a new firm set up by the former owners of Sterling Cooper. She rekindles her romance with Roger Sterling and becomes pregnant. Meanwhile her husband is away preparing to leave for Vietnam.

In early episodes Sally Draper was portrayed simply as Betty and Don's oldest child but as she matures her role has been expanded. She is in constant conflict with her mother as she reaches adolescence in the turbulent mid 1960's. Sally is bitter about her parent's divorce and her mother's remarriage.
Kiernan Shipka was born November 10, 1992 in Chicago Illinois.
She began her acting career with a guest role on ER at the age of five months. She has regularly appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
Fans expect her to have an increased presence on Mad Men.
