Effects of slimming tea

Laxative tea has several short-term effects. Diarrhea and abdominal cramps are the most common side-effects you will experience. Because of continuous loose bowel movement, dehydration can also occur which may result to fainting or weakness in severe cases. Lastly, due to its caffeine content, rapid heartbeat, increase in blood pressure and nervousness may also take place.

The dangers of slimming tea lie on its long-term effects which are dependence and tolerance. What does this mean? Since, laxatives induce bowel movement, this tea can alter your usual elimination process. Meaning, for you to defecate regularly, you need to use this tea daily. If not, constipation may arise. When it comes to tolerance, this occurs when the tea becomes less effective or ineffective as you consecutively use it. Hence, you have to increase its dosage to get the desired results. These effects may seem minor. But, what most people don’t know is that laxatives can lead to serious gastrointestinal problems if used repeatedly. It can slowly damage your stomach and colon’s lining. The problem is how can you stop using it, if your body is already relying on it?  For that reason, awareness of its proper usage is a must before trying one.

How should slimming tea  be taken?

Laxative tea should only be used occasionally and not every day. To be precise, it is strongly advised to limit your intake to 1 cup of tea every two weeks. In addition to that, you also have to integrate exercise and low-fat diet. You can also increase your fiber intake to avoid constipation. Lastly, if you really want to shed those extra calories, you might want to consider energy boosting tea instead of laxatives. With that being said, you now know the dangers of slimming tea.  As much as possible, you must use it with precaution. Remember, losing weight is not achieved overnight but with time, effort and consistency.
