The Halls of the Dead

The Halls of the Dead are visited during the main series quest Lost Knowledge. It can only be reached from Watervine Chasm and the Ruins of Vizemundsted; it has no access to Falskaar. Until Vizemundsted is exited and the door to that Dwarven ruin opened from the inside, the only access is through Watervine Chasm.

Dead Draugr - The corpse can have weapons, armour and Gold

Handle - This opens the Portcullis (9)

(9) Portcullis - Opened by the Handle at (8)

(10) 2 Urns - One is empty, the other may contain Gold, gems, restorative potions and rings

(11) Burial Urn - Empty

(12) Here there are:

2 Burial Urns - These may hold Gold, gems, rings and restorative potions
Dead Draugr - This may have a weapon

(14) In this corner are:

2 Dead Draugr - The corpses may have Gold, armour and weapons

(15) Dead Draugr - This can have armour, Gold and weapons

(16) Levelled Missile Ambush Draugr

(17) Here there are:

Chest - This contains Gold and may contain armour, enchanted armour, weapons, enchanted weapons, arrows, potions, gems, Lockpicks, spell scrolls and soul gems
2 Dead Draugr - These can have weapons, armour and Gold

(18) Spike Wall Trap - Activated by a pressure plate on the south side of the pillar it is attached to

(19) In this corner are:

3 Burial Urns - One is empty, the others can contain Gold, healing potions, rings and gems
2 Dead Draugr - These can have Gold, armour and weapons
2 Urns - These may contain Gold, gems, restorative potions and rings

The following area is on two levels.

Upper Level

(20) Oil Slicks and Lantern Trap

(21) 2 Burial Urns and an Urn - Which can hold Gold, gems, healing potions and rings

(22) Here there are:

2 Burial Urns and 2 Urns - These may contain restorative potions, Gold, rings and gems
2 Dead Draugr - These can have weapons, armour and Gold

(23) Here there are:

2 Burial Urns - These can hold Gold, healing potions, rings and gems
Chest - This contains Gold and may contain armour, enchanted armour, weapons, enchanted weapons, arrows, potions, gems, Lockpicks, spell scrolls and soul gems. The Chest is trapped at the Apprentice level with a Swinging Mace triggered by opening it.

(36) Dart Trap - Triggered by a Pressure Plate in front of the Portcullis (35)

(37) 2 Dead Draugr - These may have Gold, armour and weapons

(38) Here there are:

2 Burial Urns and an Urn - Which can hold Gold, gems, healing potions and rings
Dead Draugr - This can have weapons, armour and Gold

(39) In this corner are:

2 Burial Urns and 2 Urns - One of the Urns is empty, the others may contain Gold, restorative potions, rings and gems
2 Dead Draugr - These may have Gold, armour and weapons

(40) Urn - Empty

Detailed Area of The Halls of the Dead
(41) Here there are:

Burial Urn and an Urn - These may contain healing potions, gems, rings and Gold

(42) In this area are:

1 Burial and 2 regular Urns - One of the Urns is empty, the others can hold Gold, gems, restorative potions  and rings

(43) Here there are:

Burial Urn and 3 Urns - These may contain rings, gems, Gold and restorative potions

(44) Scroll of Blizzard and a random potion

(45) This passage runs below the rest of the Lower Area on the map and has two Swinging Blade Traps

(46) Here there are:

Dead Draugr - This may have Gold, armour and weapons

(48) Battering Ram Trap - Triggered by a Pressure Plate on the floor between the two niches at (46) and (47)

(49) Flame Spout Traps

(51) Here there are:

2 Burial Urns - In these there may be Gold, restorative potions, rings and gems

(52) Battering Ram Trap - This is triggered by a Tripwire stretched across the corridor at (51)

(67) Flame Spout Traps - There are safe paths through the traps to the wooden stairs to the left and the right, to the floor to the left and the right and to the central area of the room. The Draugr in the room can be lured onto them.

(68) Random sword and random war axe

(69) Pedestal - On top of this is the note Rite of Lord Garjeheim. On the rear is a Lever which opens the Gates at (82), (84) and (85) and releases the Draugr at (70), (71), (72) and (73)

(70) Overlord Garjeheim - Levelled Ambush Boss Draugr released by the Lever at (69)

(71) Levelled Ambush Melee Draugr

(72) Levelled Ambush Warlock Draugr

(73) Levelled Ambush Missile Draugr

(74) Rubble Pile - This can be a useful place to snipe at the Draugr from, especially for those with high Sneak.

(80) In this area are:

(81) 2 Burial Urns - These may contain Gold, gems, rings and restorative potions

The four Iron Cages each have interconnecting spiral staircases under them, blocked at various levels. To descend requires going down one section then using a connecting passage to the next staircase.

(82) Iron Cage - The Gate to it is opened by the Lever at (69). Inside it are 2 Chests, one has an Adept lock and the other a levelled lock. Both contain Gold and may contain armour, enchanted armour, weapons, enchanted weapons, arrows, potions, gems, Lockpicks, spell scrolls and soul gems. The staircase is blocked at the top.

Partway down the staircase can be reached from a tunnel leading from (84) In this area are:

Burial Urn - There may be Gold, gems, restorative potions and rings in this
Chest - This contains Gold and may contain armour, enchanted armour, weapons, enchanted weapons, arrows, potions, gems, Lockpicks, spell scrolls and soul gems

A passage leads east to the staircase under (83).

The next and final section is reached by a passage from (84). In this section are:

2 Barrels - These can contain food
Burial Urn and 2 Urns - These may contain rings, Gold, gems, and restorative potions

A passage leads east to the passage north and (83).

(83) Iron Cage - This is open and blocked at the top.

Partway down the staircase can be reached from a tunnel leading from (82). From this a passage leads south to (85).

The final section is reached by a passage from (82). Another passage leads south to (85).

(84) Iron Cage - The Gate to it is opened by the Lever at (69). This goes down and a tunnel east provides access to the staircase at (85). As far down as can be reached initially is a Burial Urn which may contain restorative potions, gems, rings and Gold. A passage leads north to the staircase under (82).

The next and final section is reached by a passage from (85). In this section are 2 Burial Urns which may hold Gold, gems, rings and restorative potions. A passage leads north to (82).

(85) Iron Cage - The Gate to it is opened by the Lever at (69). As far down as can be gone initially are:

Barrel - This may contain food
3 Dead Skeletons - These can have Gold

There is then access to the staircase under (84).

The next section is reached by a passage from (83). In this section is a is a Burial Urn which can contain Gold, gems, rings and restorative potions. There is then a passage leading west to (84).

The final section is reached by a passage from (83). In it are:

Burial Urn and 2 Urns - These may contain Gold, gems, rings and restorative potions

(86) Here there are:
