The Great Author Of Harry Potter
Fate Plays Role
Did you know that some of the great talents , became aware about their talent , after leading an ordinary life for a long time. For example Margret Mitchel, wrote the very famous romantic novel ”Gone with the wind” in 1926, just to pass time from an auto crash injury that refused to heal . When the novel was complete, she was not sure if it was worth printing , so the manuscript stayed on the shelf for about a decade, till some editor saw it, and “Gone with the Wind” not only saw the light of the day, it won the Pulitzer prize in 1937.
Same is true about J.K Rowlings, The British author of the famous series of Harry Potter Novels , that are selling faster than the proverbial hot cakes . During a delayed Manchester to London King’s cross train journey, a unique and rather strange idea clicked her , which really agitated her mind and during the next five years she kept thinking about expanding the idea into a series of novels. She remained busy in few other chores for about five years , till in 1993, she came to settle down in UK in Edinburg, and and sat down to seriously work on her idea. It is here that she completed the first novelwhich received a thrilling response . Since that day, her every novel is an eagerly awaited hit. The books have been translated into 67 languages, placing Rowling among the most translated authors in history. This success has made Rowling the first and thus far only billionaire author.
The Author And Her Novel
The seventh and final novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was published on 21 July 2007. The book sold 11 million copies in the first 24 hours of release, with 2.7 million copies in the UK and 8.3 million in the US. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” is film based on this novel. In March 2008, Warner Bros. President and COOAlan F. Horn announced that the final instalment in the series, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, would be released in two cinematic parts: Both the parts were excellent in hitting the Cinemas and breaking all kinds of Box office records. At the time of my writing, the film has earned $318,511,602 and has been shown in 4,145 theatres. Believe me it is a record.
The story unfolds with one question
The novels revolve around Harry Potter, an orphan who discovers at the age of eleven that he has some special magical talents, though he was living within the ordinary world of non-magical, or Muggle, people. His ability is inborn and such children are invited to attend a school that teaches the necessary skills to succeed in the magical world. Harry becomes a student at HogCredit: Googlewarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it is in here where most of the novels' events take place.
Now I have a question to ask. J.K Rowlings got the basic idea , when her train was delayed for four hours, and she saw a boy with much scattered hair. That wait and that boy gave her the starting point. Supposing she would have done what you and me normally do, have a burger with a cold drink and simply enjoy fashion of people around. Or suppose the train was not late, what do you think would have happened to the Harry potter series?
