The Lord of the Rings

By Edited May 12, 2016 0 0

In depth character descriptions play around with emotions of the face in your mind like a broadway play. A never ending fiction ride with thee author skimming the tops of various myths from all over.

There are also touches of poetry in the appropriate places riddling the reader and capturing him to enjoy the read.

In the face of the modern literature of this category there is originality here. An interesting combination of war, philosophy, love, morale and beauty makes it register as one of the best fiction books ever written.

It is a masterpiece which also has influences on games such as Warcraft, dungeons and dragons, giving a new breeding culture to the fantasy world. Unveiling the origins of the concepts would give a flash back to the yellow pages u have been through

The whole adventure may seem a little too complex for the characters that play in it are just too many.

The sheer size of the book also will test the willingness of the reader to push through the book in one sit. It is that interesting.

Mostly the new adaptations of the book are found in stores. If one can however get his hands to some of the original copies of this book, it would be better.

Full Review

Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, Dragons, Hobits, Kings of Men, Wizards, Orcs... Where did these elements find a cave in the books of today? It all came down from the books of J.R.R. Tolkien from 1945-55. The Lord of the Rings, The Unfinished Tales, The Hobit, The Silmrillion, Beowulf, The Children of Hurin and many more... In today's fiction we have imprints of the ideology set from these. And they are probably inspiration to the new age writers such as Christopher Paolini for his Inhertance: cycle.

The book also connects well to all other books written by Tolkien. In the place called Middle Earth, the books cover different times in history that a reader can cross. All the foundations of the scenarios portrayed have been covered in time, and loose ends and loop holes have been taken care of to give a timeless story. It is the origin of Fantasies!

The Lord of the rings is a breathtaking triology consisting of The fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. They tell the journey of a peace loving hobit Frodo Baggins who has to cast an evil magical ring into the fires of Mount Doom (volcano). In the negative there is the Dark Lord Souron who is also the creator of the One Ring. Nine other rings of power are with various chiefs of races of thew middle world. The One Ring always tries to find its way back to the Dark Lord. Mount Doom also surprisingly is within the Dark Lord's territory.

Also Characterizing famous characters like Aragorn a ranger, Legolas the elf , Gimli a dwarf and Gandalf a wizard who are the hobit's allies! Giving company to Frodo on his quest are Samwise Gamgee (his gardener), Peregrin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck also known as Sam, Pipin and Merry respectively. Parallel stories run by through the three volumes showcasing valor on part of war and companionship on part of adventure. Each of the three volumes is divided into two books making a total of six books.

The author traverses through various languages in the novels. The elf, The entish, the dwarven language and the ancient tongue . There is also an entire dictionary to the back pages for these languages. Also maps to the middle earth are attached.

In Closing

Wonderful book through and through! Go in with the temperament of tasting something classical twisted with wildest of your imagination. You will be entering a new realm of J.R.R. Tolkien...
