By | Jan 15, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

The #1 problem with most diet plans is that dieters can't stick with them. This leads to the popular meme "diets are bad, you just need to change your lifestyle." This is a nice concept, but changing your lifestyle overnight isn't all that easy either. Sometimes you need to take radical action.

The Medifast 5+1 plan changes all of this because it makes dieting easy and the food tastes great. The plan consists of 5 prepackaged meal and one Lean and Green Meal. To make things even more fun and add more variety to your diet, there are a wide variety of Medifast Recipe ideas available online.

The Lean and Green meal is pretty much what it sounds like. You combine a certain amount of leafy green vegetables with a certain amount of lean meat or vegetable protein. The proportions of each ingredient depends on what you have selected. For example, if you choose pork or beef, you will probably only be allowed 5 ounces. But, if you opt for salmon you will be allotted 7 ounces. Either way, the Lean and Green meal usually ends up as a very satisfying meal. It's also fairly easy to find a Lean and Green worth meal at a restaurant.

The pre-packaged foods contain shakes, soups, drinks, crunch bars, oatmeal, pretzel sticks and even cheese puffs. There is plenty of variety to keep you from getting bored. The shakes are the real core of the diet and they come in a variety of flavors including Dutch Chocolate, Vanilla, Banana, Orange, etc. There are so many different flavors, you're bound to find one that you will enjoy. If you have a blender, just add ice, and you'll have a rich, creamy milkshake!

Medifast is all about convenience. Almost every meal is in a convenient, read-to-eat state. Preparation for the rest of them will consist of little more than adding some water and mixing them up. Compared to some of the other extreme diets out there, this is really convenient. This would be a perfect diet for busy professionals who need to lose weight but are on a very tight schedule. You can also easily take these meals to work with you.

All of the Medifast meals are scientifically formulated to have the same balance of calories and nutrients. This means you can mix and match them. When you add them up along with a properly prepared Lean and Green Meal you will be in the 1000 calorie range with is ideal for fat burning.
