The Medifast Diet - What are the Best Medifast Products?

By | Jan 14, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Recently I started a new diet with Medifast. Like a lot of people, I decided that 2010 was going to be the year to get moving on making myself healthier. So I thought I would give Medifast another try. I've lost weight with the program before, but then I went off the plan due to some financial issues and of course I totally started eating junk food and other things that were bad for me again.

Since I've been on the program before, I know exactly what foods I liked on Medifast and which foods I don't like. They have added some new options which I'm in the process of trying, but for the most part things haven't changed all that much. The diet is still based primarily around their Shakes.

But if you've never dieted with their program before, you might not be sure of what to order. So I thought I would help with a few ideas about what the best Medifast foods are, at least for my tastes.

My list of favorites includes the orange shakes, hot cocoa, scrambled eggs and just about any of the Medifast bars. The crunch bars are a new addition to the Medifast product line and they are all a big hit, especially the chocolate mint crunch. They are very yummy.

I also quite like the chocolate and vanilla shakes, but I tend to use various Medifast shake recipes to make them just a bit more interesting. You can always add sugar free syrup to any of the Medifast shakes or hot drinks to add some variety to the plan.

The Medifast foods I'm not fond of include the soups and the puddings. My issue with both of them is that they just don't seem to mix all that well, particularly the puddings. They tend to stay grainy or powdery. As for the soups, they are just bland. But you can always add a bit of herbs and spices if you want to try giving them a bit more kick.

My least favorite Medifast products are the cappuccino and the chai. As far as I'm concerned neither of them taste anything like their normal counterparts. I've met a few other Medifast users who love them both, but the first time I tried the Chai I just poured it out. Luckily, the hot cocoa is quite delicious, which is just perfect for the cold winter months. In the summer, you can drink it as an ice blended drink instead.

Of course, everyone has their own tastes. So your best bet is to try a variety of products to determine which ones taste best to you.
