The Reason That USB CD Drives Are Being Traded In For USB DVD Drives

By Edited Sep 7, 2016 0 0

Due to today's technological advances, more and more people are asking more from the manufacturers of computers and computer devices. The call for quicker and smaller devices has led to the design of new and exciting things. It has also make the old things much better. An example of this is a USB CD drive. It used to be something that was very modern, but now it is a thing of the past.

Nowadays, people are using a USB DVD drive; this drive runs almost the exact same way. A laser is used to read all of the information, which looks like small pits, that is located on the plastic disk inside of the machine.

Many people like it because they are able to keep a lot of information on it like pictures, movies, videos, and data in word form. Even though every drive is made for one side, you can get DVDs that have two sides that can be recorded on, making the storage drive almost thirty times bigger than the old CD drives are. Because each drive is about the same size, a DVD drive is what people normally pick.

You might also want to think about what kind of multimedia you will be using and what kinds are being made nowadays. Even though you can generally play a CD in a DVD player, you can not put a DVD into a CD player. This means that the newer systems will allow you to use your old formats.

When designers started making a usb, people started using that instead of relying on the old cables. There have been a lot of changes in the manufacturing of usb cables, such as switching from type one to type two cables. More information can be transferred now, as well. In earlier years, you could only transfer 12 Mbits every second, but now you can tranfer 480 bits every second.

When you are able to transfer at this speed, and with faster access times, you are able to see why so many people now choose to not use a usb cd drive. In a world where time equals money, the speed of a dvd drive is important.

It is not hard to understand why so many manufacturers are now using DVD drives in their computers and why so many people are buying them. The economy is rough, and having a product out there that has the aspects people desire is crucial.
