The Simple Choice for your Printing Needs: Buy an Inkjet Printer

Many people own or have access to a computer these days. This can be through owning a home PC or using a computer at work. If you own a PC then it can be a good idea to also purchase a printer. Most computer users need to print out hard copies at some stage and a laser or inkjet printer can be an invaluable tool to have available.

Inkjet printers are one of the most common types available. These typically use water based ink which is held in a reservoir cartridge installed in the printer. Both monochrome and color printer options are available to suit the needs of users. Whether you are a casual or professional computer user there will be a style of inkjet to suit your printing needs.

Inkjet printers are manufactured by many companies providing a wide range of options for the consumer. Some of the leading manufacturers include Epson, Canon and Hewlett Packard, although these are only a few of the many companies that compete in the market. There are many inkjet models available with some of those that get good reviews including the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 and Canon Pixma iP4700.

The size of an inkjet printer is typically tailored to the user it is aimed at. Smaller, portable printers are useful for those working in small offices or that travel a lot for work or leisure. All-in-one printers are a little larger, although still compact, and are typically used in the workplace or home. The largest machines are aimed at companies that provide professional print services.

Printers are widely available for purchase from a number of outlets. There are, therefore many options to buy an inkjet printer with both online and bricks and mortar retailers having them available. Online stores include Super Warehouse and Tiger Direct. In-store options include Best Buy and Comp USA. With the many places they are stocked, finding a suitable inkjet printer is a relatively simple prospect.

The cost you pay for an inkjet printer can vary from less than a hundred dollars into the thousands of dollars. Smaller, portable printers are typically the most affordable, with styles such as photo printers being available at a cost of $50 to $100. However inkjet printers aimed at the professional printing market are much more expensive and prices can rise to around $10,000 for some of these.

While the upfront cost of buying the printer is important, the ongoing costs of replacing ink cartridges also need to be taken into consideration. Depending on the use a printer gets this can work out to be an expensive prospect. However there are a few options for cutting costs. Cheap printer ink cartridges such as compatible cartridges are an option to consider. These are made by companies other than the printer manufacturers. They are generally cheaper than the manufacturer brand cartridges and this makes them worth considering.

Using remanufactured ink cartridges can be a way of reducing the cost of replacing empty inkjet cartridges. These are where a spent inkjet cartridge is cleaned and refilled with ink. As well as being cheaper they are also a way of helping to reduce the disposal of old cartridges to landfill. This is obviously of benefit to the environment and makes a remanufactured cartridge a good option to consider.
