The Truth About Spray Tanning Safety

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Summer is coming up and it is time for the beaches! We're all excited about jumping into the cool water under the warm sun after a long winter and it is the perfect time to show off our tans. It is no fun at all to lie under the hot sun for hours and waiting for our skin to turn a little tan. It isn't safe either, that's why people usually go for something called 'spray tanning' instead.

Spray tanning is an easier way for people to get their lovely tans during any time of the year. Though most people go for it during the summer because that is when people wear short clothing and expose their skin color. It is rare for someone to stop and think, is it really safe for me to get a fake tan? It is important that you know what you are doing before you do it and when it comes to spray tanning unfortunately, you need to do a lot of research because most people go for it only because the FDA (food and drug administration) has approved of it. Little do they know that the food and drug administration has approved only of the DHA (dihydroxyacetone) in it.

Dihydroxyacetone is the main ingredient which is used in spray tanning products. It is what makes the skin turn darker. What most people do not know is that there are other ingredients which are also used in spray tanning lotions that can be very harmful to our skin, and one of these ingredients is mercury.

Therefore spray tanning is not as safe as most people consider it to be. All the ingredients used are written on the labels of each product or lotion you buy, unfortunately no one cares to read what is on the labels. You would be better off getting a sun tan because as dangerous and harmful that can be, spray tanning is even more dangerous and harmful.
