The Ups and Downs of GoDaddy
GoDaddy spends a lot of money paying for Superbowl commercials, Danica Patrick, and breast augmentation surgery in order to promote their product. They offer a range of products including webhosting, domain name registration, and website design. These products are not unique to GoDaddy, so what sets them aside from the competition?
When you first set foot onto GoDaddy.com, you are appalled by the flood of self advertisement. Everywhere you look, you see different services offered by GoDaddy. You will be presented with different offers for things you really don't want, or need, and it is hard to sift through all of the garbage to get what you want. I can't understand why a company like GoDaddy, who spends so much on advertising, wouldn't have a more professional looking website.
The fact of the matter is that GoDaddy offers a good product. I was upset with them when I first used them for my domain registration and web hosting because of the used car salesman attitude of their website, but I haven't had any complaints with their product. GoDaddy offers good web hosting and domain registration services for very good prices. When it comes to website design, I have a different opinion.
I believe that if you are going to pay someone $50 per month to build your website, it should be the best looking thing on the net. GoDaddy doesn't really have a good portfolio. If you look at the websites they have built, including their own, it really isn't anything to be proud of. If you really need someone to build a website go to GetaFreelancer.com and you can find someone who will do it for a couple hundred bucks.
GoDaddy has a lot to offer. It has great web hosting plans, good support, and great GoDaddy.com domain name registration services. If you are looking for one of these items then don't be ashamed to look to GoDaddy for their products. With all of the positive values surrounding GoDaddy, it's a shame that they couldn't make their website a little more user friendly.
