2012 will be an excellent year for new phones, especially Samsung's new handsets. The success of the Galaxy will lead Samsung to create some great new phones. This will include updated models and completely new designs. This is a list of the best announced and unannounced handsets. These phones are ones that you will want to spend your money on in 2012.
Samsung’s flexi-screen phones
Samsung have claimed that it will launch a handset with a flexible screen within the first two quarters of next year. It could be a foldable AMOLED display but whatever it is, this new Samsung phone will be a showstopper in 2012.
Samsung Galaxy S3
The Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 have been ultra successful phones for Samsung in 2011. The Galaxy S3 will surely be an improvement. It should feature;
- quad-core processor
- 12 megapixel camera
- augmented reality
- NFC (Near Field Communication) chip
- AMOLED screen
The screen could also be 3D if the current crop of 3D enabled phones are anything to go by. This phone will be the obvious iPhone competitor. It will also pack the very latest version of Android. This must have a serious Siri competitor; whether built in to the phone or an upgraded version of one of the many apps already available. There will be lots of competition with this phone though, so make sure you search around for the best deal on the new Samsung Galaxy handset.
Samsung Galaxy note
This tablet phone hybrid will launch in 2012. It will feature
- dual core 1.4 GHz processor
- eight megapixel camera
- a gigabyte of RAM
- 32 GB of storage
It will have a 5.3 inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This will be a competitor to the now dead Dell Streak, and HTC flyer tablet. It will also have a stylus, which will work with apps, including calendars, note taking and to do. As someone who is very interested in productivity, phones like this are very exciting to me as they will allow faster input than with conventional on-screen keyboards. I also hope that the phone will come with ultra fast 4G connectivity, allowing better integration with the cloud.
I'm sure Samsung will have some unannounced phones to whet our appetite in 2012. Perhaps a hybrid between the Samsung Galaxy note and Galaxy S3 with a screen size of 4.5 to 4.7 inches, combined with a dual core or quad-core processor, naturally packing 4G connectivity.
Whatever phones Samsung launches in 2012, they will follow a generic formula of high resolution large AMOLED displays, a move to dual and quad core processors and higher megapixel cameras. The smartphone marketplace is an increasingly competitive space, and so you should do price comparisons to ensure you get the best price and/or deal on you new Samsung cellphone.
