ZTE is a relatively new name to many of us, but is making massive inroads in the low to medium budget smart phone market and ZTE will create some great new phones in 2012. It has already announced that in 2012 it aims to produce a new premium phone, and so is likely to become a competitor to the likes of HTC, Samsung and Apple.
In 2012 it is likely to update several of it phones, whilst adding new higher end handsets. In this article we are going to have a look at the best new ZTE phones for 2012.
The original ZTE Blade was launched in February 2011, and so an updated version of the ZTE Blade will add some improved specifications to the phone. It specs should include a 3.8 inch touchscreen with an 800 x 480 resolution, Android, have a 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM and a five megapixel camera. It's been rumoured to cost around 150 to 180 dollars which will make it quite a bargain smartphone for 2012.
This is an improvement over the original phone which was known as the Orange San Francisco or the T-Mobile blade. The base specification will dramatically increase the value for money, and I would hope that it would come with the latest version of Android either version 2.3 or preferably an upgrade path to version 4.0 of Android. An updated version of the ZTE Blade would be a great phone and one of the best new ZTE phones for 2012.
ZTE Light Tab 2
The ZTE Light Tab 2 is a phone/tablet hybrid, rather like the original Samsung Galaxy tablet. It specifications include a 7 inch screen, a 1.4 GHz single core chip , 512 MB of RAM, front and rear facing cameras and 4GB of storage. It will also have a HSDPA connection but will only have Android 2.3.5 which isn't ideal for a tablet sized device as Android version 4.0 will be. Although this might be an interesting ZTE smart phone/tablet hybrid in 2012, I personally would wait for a second revision before buying this device (if you can actually get hold of one) as this is unlikely to be one of the best new ZTE phones for 2012.
The ZTE Tania is a Windows phone with a 4.3 inch screen, 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. It has as standard a 4 GB of storage but supports microSD cards up to 32GB. Its screen is 480 x 800 pixels, and it has a five megapixel camera. This may be an interesting phone for those people looking for a budget Windows phone experience in 2012.
The ZTE Warp was launched in the latter part of 2011, and can be had for around $250. It has a 4.3 inch display, a 1 GHz single core CPU and a five megapixel camera. It has the same 480 x 800 pixel screen and 4 GB of memory as many of the others ZTE smartphones. Although it is unlikely to set the world on fire, it would be worth considering as it may prove a bargain if it sells for a reduced price in 2012 and compete for the title of best new ZTE phones for 2012.
The ZTE Skate is supposed to be the successor to the Blade and is being rolled out in lots of different countries across the world, and is known as the Orange Monte Carlo in the United Kingdom. It has the same 4.3 inch screen as many other ZTE phones but only has an 800 MHz processor with 512 MB of RAM. It does support Android version 2.3 and has a five megapixel camera.
Although this might not be the most technically advanced ZTE phone in 2012, it is low cost and will be widely available, compared to many other phones which could be Chinese or Asian markets only. With its low price point it could be the best new ZTE smartphone in 2012.
